Hey everybody, hope your New Year is going well. Sadly mine isn't,,,
But lets not dwell on that shall we? I've been meaning to make several of the new alolan characters I've had in mind since the games FIRST came out... sadly I've been struggling to make art as of late due to multiple reasons.
So I settled for posting this first pic up along with a tiny bit of info about this new baby~ When I get his full ref sheet (which will include back and front views, outfits, and maybe expressions) I'll move this to scraps and post his full bio up... but until then enjoy~
Name: Kealani Johnson
Nicknames: Keiki
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Species: Passimian
Height: 3’9”
Weight: 75 lbs
Ability: Defiant
- Kealani, more commonly called Keiki (which means "the little one" in Hawaiian and means "Baby" or "Child), is the youngest of seven kids.
- He is also the only one of the siblings born in Viridian city, all the rest were born in the Alola region.
- He is tiny (especially compared to his mom and siblings) and diaper dependent due to an incident when he was an infant that badly injured him and affected his development... an incident that involved his older siblings mishandling him.
- He is an angry little monkey who is prone to tantrums and bullying anybody smaller than him (save for a few people he used to pick on at his old grade school... though he refuses to say why)... but is absolutely helpless when his family is around and reduced to a grumpy child unable to protest them treating him like a toddler in their presence.
- His mother is a very traditional woman and because of that keeps Keiki in cloth diapers since they're the diapers normally used on the island (Particularly she uses "Komala Kare Kloth: Every Island Babies Favorite Diaper" for him). She even insists he wear plastic or rubber panties, not pictured here, over the cloth diapers (which are all-in-ones and don't need them).
- While wearing your helmet constantly is considered a bit impolite in passimian society Keiki usually wears a hat or something since he doesn't like being bareheaded. I just left him hatless to show off his cutesy baby haircut and cowlick~
- Keiki's growth issues (among other things) affects his battle strategy in the arena... particularly the fact his hands are tiny and infantile for a passimian, severely limiting what he can pick up and throw at people. Naturally he's horribly embarrassed by this
- The toddler like passimian's greatest weakness though is his feet. While they have thumbs (making them great for climbing and grappling while wrestling/roughhousing) they are also INCREDIBLY ticklish. One game of "This Little Spoink" can leave Keiki giggling and squealing helplessly for several minutes not to mention needing a dry diaper.
