Ceramics: K'nopiQ Jars - Qebehsenuef
#3 in my K'nopiQ series, the falcon-headed god Qebehsenuef, one of the Sons of Horus.
I had a lot of fun decorating this jar, laying out a traditional border design across the 'shoulder' of the jar. The cap was painted with underglaze, sgraffito, and a waxy overglaze that raised the line art. The lower part of the jar is two "wadjet' eyes and two hawks holding a sun disk in their talons. Qebehsenuef represented the west and guarded the intestines.
This jar will be on sale at the Further Confusion Art Show.
