Sometimes life gives you a little pick me up
This car just happened to roll into my shop for repair the other day.
Something as stupid as a car can bring loads of enjoyment to my day.
I had to take a picture..see..I remembered my camera!!!
Yes I've been calling parts stores asking for a Flux Capacitor, Hilarious results of course, Just shouting back and forth with one of my best friends random lines makes my day..In fact...I'm leaving to go work on it now..^.=.^
Small facts about the car..
It's an 83 DeLorean
19,000 original miles
and it's in horrid shape, Didn't run when it came in, most lights didn't work, and just an absolute wreck cosmetically, all seats torn and stuff...
and the kid just bought it for 10 grand like this!!!
Car on the inside is small...real small..There's no way someone above 5 foot 8 could even consider driving it.
In review...This car is as cool as it gets...But it's a total piece of shi*
A really cool piece of shi*

Man that's a classic looking car, just seeing this picture makes me want to go and watch the back to the future movies again XD
I've always loved how the doors open like that, it's so different compared to most cars.
Careful if you are able to drive it though, wouldn't want you to accidentally get stuck in 1955. XD

bleh, darn faulty info ppl, though, i know there was only one engine put in them from production same morot they were puting in Peugeots and Volvos, a fuel injected V-6 doesnt seem right for a car that size to me, The new ones that are starting to roll out since this year( 20 per year for about 60.000$ each) do get the option of a stage 2 engine upgrade.
They actually sell for a bit more when they're original ones like this one is and in better shape, Personally I don't think it's worth it..He's gotta pay us to fix it and such..it's gonna be a large bill..It's cool for novelty, but overall the car is shite.
Plus some dragon may go smashy smashy to it one day ^.==.^

I remember when coming home from seeing "I, Robot" and when we turned onto our street, first thing I saw was a delorean parked in front of our neighbor's house. I fliped and nearly tried to climb out the window before my uncle pulled the car into the driveway XD
its the simple things in life that bring the most joy. Plutonium! :D

there is a link to get a "new" one, now with heated and cooled seats with your choice of engine! and they are not that horridly priced.

I worked for the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company for 17 years. Even there, these cars were a rare sight, most being held as investments and such. The stainless steel/brushed finish is a NIGHTMARE to maintain, let alone repair! The only one that stood out in my memory was an example that was refinished in Ferrari red. It was fantastic. Believe it or not, $10,000 is a good price, even considering the financhal melt down at present. Thanks for the up load and flood of good memories.
I thought John Z DeLorean himself was able to fit into the drivers seat, and he's six foot four. Or was, he passed away.
They're a perfect icon of the 80s, too. They look awesome on the outside, but on the inside they're terrible. Underpowered, horrible on gas, it's areal long list.
Still, it'd be nice to own one. :)

If I could afford one I would buy one they are impressive cars. There is a mint example at a car museum in Auckland but that’s the only one that I know of in New Zealand.
When filming the second and third Back to the Future films the underpowered PRV V6 was replaced with a Porsche engine.

I think a 2 liter, 3 rotor wankel rotary putting down 300HP seems like a big improvement over stock. :D

Since I was young I wanted to drive one of those cars, I still do, but with the exeption that it now HAS to have atleast 300HP.

nothgin works weak as hell... soudsn like the first generation delorians, allso its body frame was made of flimcy plastic allso.
he maybe shuld go tot eh new group of delorian that gladely would upgrade it with a stronger body frame fix the fatal flaws on the engine, and no the engien ahs no redeming qualatys what so ever, knoing of experienceas we had a car with same engine and the only tihng it was good at was to boil.
