Awesome.
What size of enclosure are you using for him?
How old is he?
Are you using a heatmat or a ceramic bulb?
What brand of thermostat do you use? (i stand by Habistat)
Oh and are you considering getting more snakes/reptiles?
Have you ever considered getting any elapids?
sorry lotta questions lol i love reptiles

1. Im not too sure, but i know its bigger then it needs to be, if you get what i mean. :P
2. probably coming up to just under a year old now.
3. 2 Heatmats, cos his current cage cant have ceramic bulbs.
4. the Thermostat is a T-rex, it came with it.
5. i'd probably get another rat snake/corn snake.
as for the Elapids, I would, but i dont wanna risk having a Snake like that with all my other family pets.

what is his current cage?
does it have a mesh screen top stopping you from using a bulb? if so you can either cut a hole in the mesh big enough for a bulb guard and put wood over the top of the mesh then fix the bulb on to the wood and screw the guard in place.
OR you could put a bulb into a stand and leave it over the mesh outside the cage

yes there is one issue.
You must make sure that the bulb never ever falls onto the mesh it will burn through it quickly and land on whatever substrate you have. most substrate is flammable and put simply a bulb can and will melt your flesh and will melt reptile scales.
The solid steel gurads are better. they will char and blacken but it probably wont burn through.
Also if you use a holder for the bulb outside the mesh make sure it's a heat resistant cable and cermaic bulb fitting. normal ones will explode on you. I learned that the hard way. my bilb shatterd into soo many pieces
