Thank you. The armour was made in stages, about 25% of which I did myself. It was what got me started on leather working, which led me to costume making.

Yes! I have to ask, though, are the pads themselves a completely different material from where the joints are in your fingers? If so, could you specify what kind? ^^;

The entire hand (fingers, joints, paws, etc) are all a single latex glove which was moulded from a sculpted cast.

Thanks. It's all leather. I did leather working before I got into costume making so it's a comfortable medium for me.

It's funny that you mention how leather-working got you into costuming, because that's how it was for me, too. I've been making armor for a while now. When I decided to make a gnoll costume, I stuck with the medium I was comfortable with and got a whole cowhide with the hair still on. It's basically just really fancy leather armor... with hair. Yep.

Incidentally, I'm pretty sure that it was this picture that made me realize that my paws needed to have pads on them.

Sorry it took a while to respond to this, I haven't been on the site for a while. Love your suit, by the way. Oh, and it's funny that you made your gnoll costume with a cowhide. Wgg's hair is made out of two horse manes, one with skin attached!
