Been playing Starbound again and starting on Survival Mode is pretty bad but a good idea. I am sad that they've removed the bubble tech that allows me to survive long falls(80% of my death).
Birds in space is sooooo awesome. Like Falco in Starfox. He's epic(not really since he's a douche but he's epic still).

Ah yes, crew recruitment. I did had a birb in my crew as an engineer. Then I got a planet quest about dealing with mercenary. That sucker brought a bazooka and one shot me every time I go down there and I am maaaaadd! D:<
Although I managed to upgrade my equipment later and bring a hammer, I eventually got him down to 50% health and he surrendered. I spare him and he immediately join my crew~ now I have a bazooka dispenser and every mission is pretty smooth with him. Oh and the birb that swings a wrench every now and again.

Bubble is like, the most mandatory thing in a cave exploring game ever. When it was gone I had to like, constantly build platforms and put it under me as I descend.
I guess now exploring in Starbound feels more slowly and more careful. Especially in survival mode where you drop everything on death except equipments.

oops... weeeeeeee splat die.
Also now that you can't just beam up from deep underground you actually need to be more careful on how you go all the way down.
that and well..... the grappling hook gets a lot more useful.
Still curiously I'd never bothered to move my morphs away from double jump.

double jump is definitely the most useful in all scenario tech for feet. The wall jump almost looks like it would be neat but most caves I fall into doesn't always have a linear wall for it to be useful so naah. I haven't gotten the grapple hook on the update however. Since I dislike ropes being a consumable item.
Well the grappling hook requires durasteel I think. so yeahhh you'd get it later. It's definitely worth a look into cause it's one-handed, so you can go swing about and shoot pistols for some random fun
Wall jump looks amusing but never used it... The triple jump's jump distance is so short it's kinda pointless and the rocket jump seems more useful for inflicting fall damage on yourself :D
