Despite his new life in death, It doesn't leave Connor completely invulnerable. While he can always take an Ethereal form in the living world, it leaves him invisible and unheard to those around him except those he chooses. He's not a poltergeist, But he can nudge and push objects around, and even eat food. but with limited success not having any arms. So when he decided he'd live it up in a physical form on a new unfamiliar planet he'd arrived to and take a nap, he found himself at the receiving end of a hostile alien's particle rifle. Despite his power, leaving his defenses down means his physical resilience have to take the blow, and while conventional ballistic weapons don't do much against him, high energy and particle rifles will do just fine.

Which unfortunately for Connor, Means he has to go through Lord Yemma's check in station. It's like the DMV, but worse.
