Yeah I know the dates are muddled up XD I never drew these in order! hahaha!!
But I wanted to submit them in the order of story telling.
STORY TIME!!!!
Isabel wakes up and immedietly realizes that the place she was in was both warm and damp.
The small fairy doesn't want to open her eyes, she thinks she has a pretty good idea where she is given that the last thing she saw before she passed out was the gaping jaws of a hungry demon.
She curls up into a ball and shivers with fear, clenching her teeth and holding back tears. She doesn't want to die... Or at least not by being digested!
But the sounds she was hearing... it didn't sound like stomach noises at all.
She could still hear the ocean... and rain... she can hear rain!
She also hears what sounds like a fire burning, the flames cracking and popping, which would explain why she was so warm.
The fairy opens one eye slowly and removes her hand from her face and sees that she's been placed in front of a small controlled fire.
The ground below her is indeed wet, and as she opens her other eye and looks around she realises it's because she's been brought into a damp cave.
She sits up and looks around.
The cave seemed to be lived in, most likely by the demon who'd found her.
The fire even had a pot hanging above it heating something up inside.
Was the demon going to cook her?!
Her heart raced as she looked around unable to see either the demon or a way out of the cave, and then she shrieked out loud when she heard the demon speaking right behind her
"Ah, you are alive"
She turned around quickly to face the demon and tried to back away, but instead found herself back in the demon's grip as he reached down and grabbed her with one hand and brought her up to his face.
"Please don't eat me!" she begged covering her face with both of her arms.
The demon chuckled at her reaction and once again gave her a toothy grin showing off them sharp fangs of his.
"If I was going to eat you I'd have done it already. I actually wanted to make you an offer" his voice was smooth and he spoke in civil tone. His accent sounded somewhat British... not posh exactly but well spoken still.
"From where I'm standing it looks a lot to me like you wouldn't last a night out there without my help. And well, just so happens I could do with some help too. What I propose is that I'll take care of you until you're well again if you will do some small favours for me in exchange?"
The demon was right about one thing, she wouldn't last a night on her own in her condition.
She barely had the strength to sit up, never mind take care of herself and avoid predators.
But what favours could a powerful demon possibly ask of a tiny fairy?
She didn't exactly have much time to think about it, his eyes were fixed on her as he waited for her answer.
Every part of her body was in pain, and although the demon had cleaned up her wounds the best he could while she had been out cold she could still feel the throbbing in her bones and the sting in her wounds.
She was sure that what ever the demon had planned for her wouldn't be good, but if she didn't accept his offer then she knew she would die whether she was released or eaten.
"I..... will help you" she finally answered.
The demon smiled, and his fingers loosened from her body so she was now sat on a flat palm.
"Smart fairy" he told her holding her a little closer to his face
"My name's Isabel" the fairy said in a tiny shy voice answering what the demon had called her.
"I'll just call you Izi if its all the same to you. you can call me Carlos"
Isabel opened her mouth to protest about her name being shortened, but she thought better of it and bit her tongue. If Izi was the name he wanted to identify her with then she'd let him have his way.
She was too small and vulnerable to dare argue.
Later that night when the demon was asleep Isabel limped to the mouth of the cave and looked out over the beach.
There was a storm passing over which made ocean waves roll up onto the beach and crash against the rocks.
Lightning cracked over the ocean throwing jagged bolts of electricity through the sky which would light up as quick as they vanished, and a roll of thunder would boom loudly every 10 seconds or so.
Rain beat down heavily accompanied by a strong wind and an uncomfortable chill in the air.
Thankfully the cave from which the fairy sat was high up on the cliff side out of reach of the crashing waves, but looking down made Isabel realise that she wouldn't be able to escape even if she wanted to.
How did she get into this mess?
She'd just have to trust the demon on his word an hope he was being honest. There was no other way out of this.
