I can only imagine how cold his feet are, getting ice cold water soaking into his fur. It's a beautiful photograph and the character fits in there well.

The photo was probably taken in late 1979 or early '80 in Northville, Michigan.

Anacronism alert! Supermarkets in the 70s were still using paper bags, not plastic.
If it's the 80s, well, maybe okay.
I can see something about Christmas in the newspaper machine, but no date.

The A&P bag foreshadows Walter looking over the mall with the A&P.

Seeing places I grew up in and currently visit weekly for lunch from the past with cartoon animals drawn over them is so cool.

E. Main and Center in Northville has changed quite a bit.
