The above is a link to the first version of my current rhythm game project: C:\BUBBLE. It's really basic right now, but I thiiink I have a fair bit completed already! Ideally I'd have a full version completed within a month or two
Features:
One song! ^.^
A staggering two minutes of gameplay! :o
Nice graphics I guess! ^_^'
A heaping helping of difficulty! >w>
Absolutely NO furries or inflation D:
Coming soon:
Furries and inflation! :P
Tagline: As a programmer/therapist at Bubble Therapy and Resort, it's your job to relax a wide variety of clients by listening to their rhythm of their heart and use it to code their inflation therapy! The better you code, the bigger they get!

Taking a crack at GameMaker I see c; I will gladly play beta tester! (and leave some feedback? If you want? If not, skip reading any text below)
You might want to include some kind of feedback/visual reward when the player hits the bubbles correctly, so they can tell without having to glance at the score. Something like a color change or pop. I trust you were planning on doing something like that anyway.
Also, just as a user experience thing: while the ZXC,./ keys are certainly more comfortable position than, say, cramming your fingers on ASDFGH, bubble groups on screen that contain one or more key press from each hand were difficult to figure out. The bubbles fall on a straight row of 6, wheras the keyboard splits the keys into 2 groups of 3, necessitating a little extra brainwork in order to hit combos like "X ," or "C ." It's not a problem in and of itself, but if you plan on keeping the layout, you should probably ease the player into the format with some slower, easier songs.
Pretty good so far!! That empty room is just begging to be filled with lovely, swelling clients ❤♡

Noooo please tear this game (and my heart) apart! I want a good game, not just a game my friends say is good!
Yep, adding effects for instant feedback is high on my list for features to add! Probably different colored pops, or just your standard DDR "Okay-Great-Perfect) text!
You're the second person to mention that the layout is unintuitive, but I think it's definitely something one can get used to-- my high score on the one song is 11805! So I will absolutely add easier songs, and perhaps add a left/right-hand-only mode? What do you think of that?
Aww, thank you! And yes, it most certainly is ^.^

One thing to note: The game has a bit of a first order optimal strategy issue within (that is, a strategy with low effort or skill and high reward). If one presses all the buttons for each bubble, the points rack up, as the difficulty of remembering which key to press disappears and the user only has to worry about the timing. This may be fine, but it is good to be aware of it, and fix it if you so desire.
Pretty fun! ^^
It reminds me a bit of osu!mania. I got 10300 points on first try.
I wish you could add some sort of button configuration, because it's hard to play this game with a keyboard other than QWERTY, for example QWERTZ. And maybe add a start button so the game doesn't start as soon as you launch it. Also there seems to be a problem with gradually pushing all buttons at once when I switched from the native Qwertz to Qwerty to make the game easier. Don't know what's the problem exactly, but try to tweak the key press handling part of the code. Other than that, it's very good and I'm looking forward to updates. Rii
