Building Practice
Building and Town study artwork, these three study pieces were to help me study different structures and set ups of various places. I've been quite determined to study up on Land and living quarters as I feel like my skill in those areas in art are quite lacking. I find Cities to be an extreme week point for me, as I have not even experienced a city before besides my time at Anthrocon (Spent mostly in the building).
Bottom: The bottom was the first drawn, and of a castle. I absolutely adore castles and wanted to try one out. There is a lot to a castle to make one look interesting. The types of material is rocky or stoney, and the structures on the building are extremely detailed and intracate. I obviously did not include that in this particular study, but I took great notice of it when I was drawing. It was overwhelmingly huge, and I think I would have had to spend the entire stream sketching the castle if I really wanted to get all that included with it. It was like the feeling that makes me feel unimaginably small, scared, and lonely.
Middle: Lyrathil, based off off Venice, Italy. I've been meaning to study up on the city of Vennice to help me understand Cities on Water. Although, the city of Lyrathil would be aparently more like Water 7 from one Piece than Venice. more like a mix between the two. The buildings were all rather smooth in the pictures I saw, and there was not very much place to walk as it looked from photos. The buildings were also all set up lke how Trees get cut in a city to make room undernieth it for stuff that was put there. I thought that was quite weird and interesting. Also, boats are hard. They are really weird shapes. I hope to one day be able to draw a really nice image of this place, despite how many small details there would be. It would most likely be a multi day project just to get things set up where I want them.
Top: Last is a farm house. Now, I know very well that a farm house or other rather rural houses look very much different from a town or city house. They are build quite different than houses in more populated areas. No matter what, farm houses have a rather old feel to them. The buildings look build quite different, too. They are big in an empty way. The scenery around them is mostly trees or field, and lots of plants, and this foliage is very enwrapping. Especially since a lot will be pickers of some kind. I can walk outside and get caught in 4 types of pickers then fall into a neddle plant within a 5 foot area. XD But the shapes in a rural area are much more free and not as structural as more populated areas. The testures are picky and crunchy. Even the house a bit. I need to practice different types of trees a little more.
