When I first created Dash in 2013, it was sort of a hasty design just so I could finally have a fursona after curiously lurking the fandom for years. Influence to do so was brought on by an old furry friend, who told me I HAD to have one. She was wrong, but she did help push me to do it so I can thank her for that.

The biggest difficulty was choosing the species. The second biggest difficulty was designing it. I chose coyote because although I am much more similar to a dog in character, I don't like the domesticated subservient role that dogs assume. I wanted the character to be more like me: free, adventurous, crafty, dominant, almost Bohemian in presentation.

Thus, Dash the coyote was born.
