I lived in Parkdale for at least ten years before I discovered this "street" off Melbourne Ave. It's gated and there's an alley-way about 100 feet long before you get to these two rows of identical homes. It's hard to estimate when they were built. (There are historical society placques but no date.) But from what I know about the surrounding neighborhood, I 'd say they were built as worker housing for the factory buildings nearby. Those date to about the 1890's, so likely these do to. The plaza is a dead end, but there is a narrow passage way to another street to the left.
