Heh! Beat ya to it! It's from an extended comic I'm still working on called "Bitter Harvest." A Human in suspended animation escapes from his ruined colony ship to find the planet populated by genetic reconstructs that seem to have originated from the ship. The little critters have even adopted left over human technology and have built themselves back to a "Steam age" level.
