DHD - Sinking, Sleeping, Falling, Dreaming
Ok, one more for now.
People seem to prefer the less musical "soundscape" tracks that i've done. Anyhow, this was done a year or two ago, something that was made from pieces of something else, intended to be an ambient portion at the end of another song on my Glory album - the final dream as one lies dying.
But it didn't really fit, or it wasn't executed well enough to be included. (though i actually like it... i might revamp it for use with this new project, since it's one of the most ambient things i've done)
i don't know if you can tell, but i really like the way some loops 'feel' ...enough to make a whole audio track based on just a single loop cut out of some movie, with an imperfect click in the sample to create rhythm... I loop it, then i build other pieces of the song from this base, establishing things that fit by how well they synergize with that base. I've been doing this more lately, as you can see from my two more modern music submissions that i posted recently (not including the old song i posted before this.)
...i've always been fascinated by sampling, and the significance of using certain samples, such as sounds cut from a video of an operating equine slaughterhouse... or invoking the ghost of Jim Morrison by including a sample of his voice "this is the end... my only friend, the end." (that's not in this song obviously, just an example of what i mean)
Sounds carry things within them, even if the person listening doesn't know what he or she is hearing. (Coil knew this well, if you are familiar with their work.)
Of course there are sounds that have no significance, but just sound good, too :P
There are no rules. Defining boundaries for art is the clipping of wings.

I can hardly believe how awesome you have become on your music! You are ready for any station that plays trance, Thats a certainty. Lookup the local college, and see if they have a radio station. There was one in the bay area, (One of 4) that played ambient, trance, noise, and the like every weeknight 10pm-2 am. Lotsa trance dreams were had by me from that station. (On my first radio, a car deck with casset, that I had hooked up to a battery, and a cb antenna for enough gain to pull the 100 watt station in from 40 miles away)
I will definately be in line to order one of these when your done. Especially if youve gotten that good while workin the graveyard!
