If movies were realistic in any way, most would be 2 minutes long and would end with the main character dying painfully and miserable.

There's a 1991 movie called "Highway to Hell" that was filmed LITERALLY ON the Highway to Hell, State route 666 in my home state of AZ. It's a passable horror comedy but there's one line that the Devil aka Beezle says to the protagonist before giving him his final challenge to save his girl that ALWAYS stuck with me and I believe is the REAL fate of our world:
Beezle: "People live, people die...they come down here. I have infinite levels of Hell. What you've seen is nothing, a mere kindergarten. It's so easy for me now. People have lost their willpower, their hope. They think the world is going to come to an end. Wishful thinking. The world will last a long long long long time."
He's basically saying the world will die of boredom. I think we secretly know that so we try to convince ourselfs it isn't by making these exciting action / danger filled movies that have lots of explosions, shootings and yes car chases.
I can deal with it either way...I just wish it would hurry up and get here.
Also Mel Gibson doesn't make BAD movie, he just makes them from an Ausie perspective. Their whole COUNTRY is a post apocalyptic world..even the nice cities!!
