GLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Omg omg omg omg omg omg omg
Bet you wish you haddd oneeeeee~
I have THREE :D They came gift-wrapped from my superawesome friend from Japan. He told me how to care for them (as best as he could in his adorably poor English!) and I basically got the idea. I reallllyyyyy hope I can keep them alive; apparently they are VERY difficult to keep in captivity, which saddens me greatly as I am already so attached to them <:| I'm taking LOADS and LOADS of pictures and videos, just in case! ;.;
Oh, and they're right at or a bit over 2" long. ^.^

aww, what a cutie! I must ask, though...were they simply sent by mail? :o sorry if this sounds weird. over here we have these crazy laws so you can't import foreign animals or insects into the country. if it were possible, I would love to keep ladybugs. .__. we have very limited insect variety over here.
Yeah, he had said he sent some to another friend outside the country and didn't have any problems. I noticed that on the package he marked them as "toys", though XD
Ladybugs? That's an interesting pet to want to keep, I don't think I've heard of anyone who keeps them! They're smelly, but lovely. :)

hrm. the customs here hate me enough already, so I'm sure they'd just LOVE it if I tried to import something that's actually ALIVE. *rolls eyes* I'll get my buggies once I've moved away from this horrible place. :( I didn't know ladybugs smelled...I've only ever seen those teeny tiny cute ones when I was in denmark. one just happened to sit down on my chest and it was love at first sight. XD anyway, it's still a couple of years before I move abroad, so I have plenty of time to read up on it.
but anyway, congrats on your new babies. they are sooooo cute, I love how their...are those feelers or do they have a specific name? anyway, I love watching them move. so cute!

Yeah Bees and Wasps are really really scary. I hate them. But ladybugs...blegh.
First you have only 1 in your room. You're like: "Hm...let's be kind." so you put it outside.
Then you suddenly have 2 in your room. You're like: "Okay....wtf..." but you still put them outside.
Then there are like 5 or 6 in your room. "Now you're like...AAARGH!!!"

when i saw this picture, it reminded me of one of my new favorite games for the wii called deadly creatures
as pill bugs are one of the prey items and that's just what they do, ball up and bounce off when you try to pounce them
and you have to go chase them down while playing as either a tarantula or scorpion roaming the southwestern drylands
some of the creature abilities and sound effects are embellished for dramatic effect,
but definitely effort into rendering all the inverts realistically, even those little roly poly crustaceans look alive
