Another step in making the feline humanoid. Using the warped skulls (in the scraps gallery) as a guideline, I did some rough sketches of the head.
In the upper part are photos of an infant and adult male chimp. A significant amount of human features are due to neoteny, the retention of juvenile characteristics into an adult form - note how much more 'human' the young chimp looks. I figured the felinoids would work the same way, so I did drawings of a 4 week old, 2 and a half month old and 9 month old cat's head (leaving out extra details like whiskers). The final drawing of the felinoid was based on a combo of the two.
