Dark Natasha is a great artist to commission for my ancient Aurans, as her figure designs fit the physiques of the characters and her elaborate outfit designs perfectly match the styles they exhibit in their setting. Here, I had her depict Kibwe, chief of a tribe of painted savanna wolves (the in-universe term for African wild dogs or cape hunting dogs) and his first wife Abena, in a moment of romantic affection. In an environment where marriage is usually arranged for political alliances, both Kibwe and Abena were fortunate enough to be greatly compatible as mates. As Kibwe rose to the rank of chiefhood, his leadership helped quell numerous inter-tribal conflicts and help his very species return from the brink of genocide by other species-specific tribes in the savanna. Abena, daughter of the tribe's previous chief, in like manner was crucial in keeping the peace within her home tribe in times when Kibwe was off making diplomatic missions to other tribes.
