It still feels like just yesterday we lost Mr. Armstrong, now John Glenn. At least the silver lining here is that Buzz Aldrin recently was released from the hospital after a week-long stint, but soon all of the original Starmen will return to the infinite abyss, their exploration of which has made them so irreplaceable in American history.
John Herschel Glenn Junior was indeed an American Icon and a Hero who will be missed.
On the bright side however, perhaps now with the Seven reunited in the here-after, Carpenter, Cooper, Schirra, Grissom, Shepherd, Slayton and now Glenn can all orbit our little blue world and revisit the moon as they please.
