One of my oldest friends and foxy artist of awesome, sierrex, wanted to draw something with this kind of melancholic theme and she was sweet enough to pick my sharkface, Jax, for the piece. and as anyone who has commanded and been responsible for the welfare and safety of others in the field during times of conflict and stress knows, it is truly a -heavy- burden to bear. Jax may commonly have a manner of brash bravado about her, but there was times where she -is- more thoughtful and introspective. As indeed, being an officer responsible for 100 soldiers under her command, she does feel the weight of responsibility for their lives, and in the decisions she makes that will certainly result in the taking of other lives. That burden and responsibility, which can be a proud one nevertheless in the entrusting of responsibility over others, is represented by the ethereal shackles.

Sierra did a fantastic job in bringing the concept to life and her talents as an artist continue to grow, as evidenced here in the wonderful glossy shading and the subtle detail in Jax's expression.
