For my latest edition of "Throwback Thursday", I have the first to two 'photo-ops' taken in November, 2016, at the 2016 "Miami Book Fair International" (at the Wolfson Campus of Miami-Dade College). Celebrities of all types were in attendance there, from actors like Jane Alexander, and humorists like Dave Barry to big-name politicians like Bernie Sanders!

On this particular day, I was meeting a couple of professional cartoonists at a lecture in the 'Children's Arena' of the Book Fair. One of them is Mike Maihack, who I'd first met at a central Florida comic book convention over a decade ago. At that time, he was best known for his mini-comic "Cow and Buffalo", while he was experimenting with a new concept work of his entitled "Cleopatra in Space". Long story short, "CiS" became a full-color (and highly successful) graphic novel - with the Queen of Egypt placed in a futuristic setting.

Following said lecture, I not only got a chance for Mike to autograph the first three volumes of his graphic novel, but he also was nice enough to pose with me for this 'photo-op'.

BTW, Mike is already hard at work on Volume Four of "CiS" - which will feature an otter character (for those of you who are into mustelids)!
