Hiddson: Hello everyone and welcome to Bandits Breakdown! Your one stop for all things Las Vegas Bandits. Brett Hiddson here along with Terrence Thursday. Terry, one huge win for the Bandits deserves another as far as the fans are concerned and they need another one when on the road to the North Florida Renegades.
Thursday: Yet another team ahead of the Bandits in the standings so getting a win here would be just as big as New York. Not to mention a little payback from an earlier loss to them as well when Stapler was absent due to injury.
*cue highlight of the game*
Hiddson: And boy this would be a good one. Starting with the home team Renegades in the first after taking advantage of not the best punt by Tuttle. Penguinator on 3rd and one and darts a pass to Daniel Moxley. Touchdown Renegades. Bandits respond with a good drive of their own. Stapler finding R.V.A for a nice 27 yard grab through the air. Then, Renato Hanna to keep the chains moving with an 18 yard catch. And it wouldn't be a Bandits highlight if Terry Paige isn't in it these days. Nice 21 yard run from him Farmer saving the touchdown for now... as Stapler finds Bakari on the flat for the touchdown.
Thursday: Nice way for the Bandits to respond to the score, Brett. Finding the usual suspect through the air and Paige on the ground.
Hiddson: 7-7 after one, Renegades not wanting to disappoint the fan base in Tallahassee, orchestrating a drive of their own to respond. Penguinator finding Alyssa Hunter for a great pass and getting 18 yards there. Later in the drive. Penguinator hands it off to Carrice Kenton. 14-7 to the team in Tallahassee. They would add a field goal to make it 17-7 Can the Bandits respond? Maybe this 51 yard grab by R.V.A. can convince you. Nice play by the canine receiver and he would get rewarded with a jump ball grab for the touchdown two plays later. 14-17, North Florida leads it at the Half. We have ourselves a shootout Terry.
Thursday: Looking to be one of those long days for both defensive coordinators if this kind of scoring keeps up.
Hiddson: Bandits start the second half and fired up by scoring before the Second quarter expired. First play 34 yard grab from Stapler to Jose Alcala. Then goes to him again for another 20 yards. Bandits later in the redzone...
KLVB Radio: 2nd and 6 on the North Florida 12, Bandits can move the chains at least once more barring penalties Stapler drops back to pass Bandits picking up the blitz and Stapler finding Alcala... GOT IT!! HET GOT IT! TOUCHDOWN BANDITS!!
Hiddson: Thanks to our friends from KLVB Radio. Jose Alcala the star of that Bandits drive and giving the Desert Desperadoes the lead 21-17. Bandits would add a field goal of their own to make it 24-17 at the end of three quarters. Fourth Quarter Bandits on the goal line and Stapler busts his way in for the score. 31-17. But the Renegades wouldn't give up. Larkin with a big run here. Hunter with a chunk of yardage thanks to a good catch there. And Penguinator pitch and catch to Randy Stanford. 31-24. Bandits leading but after a three and out. Here come the Renegades who apparently got it made. Dallas Larkin-- No one's gonna catch him after all those missed tackles. A 43 yard touchdown run and the game is tied. And with three and outs to both sides after wards, we're going to play some more football.
Overtime. Sudden death rules apply here. First to score wins but the defenses where are they finding th energy cause now all quarter they are getting the stops. Including a Sack for Captain Quick himself. Coby Carson with a huge sack to stop a potential drive. Back and fourth with more three and outs and then.. Bandits have the ball with just over 5 minutes left. Stapler finding Bakari twice for 7 yards to keep the chains going. Then 3rd and 5 and RVA with an unbelievable catch for a 14 yard gain to keep the drive alive. Later Paige looking now field goal range would be a factor and the Renegades Farmer called for tripping to move the chains once more that can be huge... Final seconds and it comes down to Raleigh Cooper, the Rookie kicker from Alaska. The weather might not be as cold over there but the pressure is just a daunting...
KLVB Radio: After two instances of timeouts from the Renegades to ice the kicker... once more with feeling for Raleigh Cooper... From 42 yards out... Good snap... good hold... kick is up and has the distance... *Thud* And ITS GOOD! IT BOUNCED IN OFF THE RIGHT POST! The North Florida fans thought he missed it but the Refs had the best view and signal it's good! Bandits Win 34-31! What a shootout in Tallahassee!
Hiddson: And once again from our friends at KLVB Radio. The Bandits get the win 34-31 in Overtime! What a game by both Penguinator and Stapler. Passing touchdowns aplenty from the signal callers as they orchestrate some great drives against the daunting defenses. And how about Cooper? Nothing helps make friends in the locker room like getting the game winning field goal in Overtime.
Thursday: That was the Franchise's first ever Overtime too, Brett. Great to see the Bandits handle their business in a situation that can only help them further down the road.
Hiddson: Right Terry, and with more from the sidelines. We have Issabelle Holt standing by with the game winning kicker...
Holt: Brett I'm here with Raleigh Cooper, fresh from the game winning kick in overtime. Most rookies covet a chance to win a game with a pressure mounting kick like that. How does it feel to join the those who's kick decided the game?
Raleigh: I've gotta tell you it feels a-freaking-mazing.
Holt: Seemed like the 'icing the kicker' strategy didn't seem to faze you one bit. How do you prepare for when coaches try to do that to you?
Raleigh: I remind myself they they're doing it because they're scared. Because they know the Kick is going to be a good one, so they do what they can to try and make me put to much thought into it.
Holt: Here's hoping there will be more chances for you to get the game winner. Thanks again Raleigh.
Raleigh: Thank you!
Holt: Back to you, Brett.
Hiddson: Thanks again, Issabelle! And we'll be right back but when we return. More interviews and an outlook at the next game against the Baltimore Ponies.
