So, my earlier upload of my City of Heroes/Villains character in her IronAngel Armour got me thinking. First, how unhappy I am that the severs shut down, still. Second, that the main problem in-game was there wasn't a cat-shaped helmet available, only robots and human. So I had her helmet-less and "Forcefield" but it still looked a little stupid in exactly the way anyone who has watched a certain episode of One Punch Man might appreciate.
Schlockmercenary, has mercs in armour suits, but Mr Taylor has come up with a great way of getting around it with the auto-deploying helmets. Even the heavy hardsuits have a way of popping their lid so you can see character expression. I started pondering how this might work with the Angel armour.
I decided the armour is a Kryten -like (largely flat planes), resembling a Stealth craft of a Wintercroft mask. The helmet separates into two pieces, that have a resting position on the chest and shoulder blades. Assuming a HUD and the usual goodies, even in the down position it's sort of a cat-shaped body-camera.
Continuing along this line, I decided it's a lot lower-tech than what the toughs use. It's more a slightly upgraded spacesuit. Essentially a compression vacuum suit with a kevlar outer-layer, and titanium scales or plates for micro-meteor protection. Thus, it is the futuristic, high-tech equivalent of medieval plate armour.
Well, I wasn't about to Mary-Sue my (former) Main into someone else's universe and out-equip its star protagonists. It's bad enough I want play in his IP as it is, though I'll say it's somewhat forgiveable as there is a SchlockMercenary RPG coming out, and I was a minor backer for that.
So she's my early character! So there!
Nanite sensor-cloud and Phantasm Balls are there to make her slightly less of a push-over, but assume her armour is for repairing sensor arrays in space or a swamp and the other things are civilian tech which every hacker in the universe has easy kill-keys for.
