This is Avery, one of the members of the Jankeasangs tribe living in the middle of a jungle of unknown location. Born unintentionally from the tribe's old leader and a female member, he lived a somewhat messy childhood, from one side being appreciated for his good will, his sense of justice and his father's position, on the other side being made fun of mostly because of his origins and his overall scared nature as he was too frightened to endure the hunting challenges he was presented to as basic training, not able to fight a creature that was sightly menacing. At 16 years, he decided to fight over his scared nature and become an Alpha, one of the highest merits for the males of the tribe, mostly because after hearing alot of his father, long missing since his birth, and how great he was for the tribe he wanted to match his figure and be just as grand, even if it would've been hard for him. He started training much more intensively, trying to improve his skills and in 2 years he gained various survival skills, he learnt how to handle his spear, he learnt how to fish (thing which actually scared him) and learnt how to move fast in the jungle, eventually becoming one of the more agile members of the tribe.

Despite having mastered a lot of things, Avery still couldn't properly hunt creatures he considered menacing to him, a thing that the other members had learnt to do. This fear had do disappear eventually as the "Dispersion" was approaching. The "Dispersion" was the rite of passage for the males who wanted to become Alphas: the participants would've had to disperse in the jungle and live on their own without anybody's aid, using only their knowledge and skills to survive. The minimum amount of time was of 12 full moons but then the only way to return to the tribe was to bring 3 teeth of the jungle's deadliest animals. If these weren't possessed, the tribe would've refused the participant's return.

Avery is currently going through the Dispersion and, despite some initial difficulties with food and finding a place to live, he managed to stabilize himself after 1 full moon and he built himself a wooden shack where he spends the nights, isolated from the rest. 11 full moons are still left and Avery managed to put his roots in the inhospital jungle but many challenges are to come and his fear to be faced someday, leaving him with the feeling of worry most of the time.

So this is Avery, my first character ever. It's not the most detailed image about him but at least it gives some reference (leaving the rest to imagination :D). If you're familiar with him, you can see he's got some changes from last pics...not too many but still there's a difference :P

Another difference that you might not notice is the story. While the setting and some elements are the same, various elements like the Dispersion itself and his character changed a little...and really I've got to thank  Kodiak079 for developing this character with his writings about him! You have no idea on what he wrote but he basically formed the character and gave out some stories (THAT I LOVE ALOT) that I could even represent one day <3
Like...a comic wouldn't be bad...fact is I'm lazy, gg me.
