There are few places on Muspelheim that welcome life and give shelter, and even if you should find such a place you have to prove yourself to the eyes of the Guardian, as it is already told in the tales of old.
IN fact it is far lesss mysterious than it was told by the people of Muspelheim. The eldest dragons are the very oldest beings on this world and always have been there. Naturally they settled down in the few not-constantly-life-threatening places they found and then the immortals remained there and kept watch over their homes. But when the Muspel were young, they were a lot like their brothers and sisters from other worlds and they liked to think of a higher power, protecting the life on their world, and they weren't that wrong after all.
