Kody decided that it would be a fantastic idea to wander over to the edge of the deck of the cabin he was staying at up in Alaska, after he noticed that with the fresh snowfall the northern lights were going crazy and one thing kody wanted to do was take in the natural beauty of it all on a snowy Alaskan winters night.
This picture I just love, this was done by one of my all time favorite artists
AspenWynd and I just think beside it being perfect for this time of year, it really captures what I absolutely would love to see someday and that is the Northern Lights which I have yet to see!
However here is a link to the original piece:

Well now that is super surprising yeah! That sounds a lot like me but I would have to get going on the topic of Alaska and other things along with talking about talking about the northern lights X3, however I suppose playing dead is the best way to cut a convo like that short anyway lol
However Thanks and I am glad you like the pic :3

Oh I am expecting that they would be fantastic and I will see them one day and when I do I expect them to be incredable!
Also I gotta say that you should try and get out there to watch them then since you have not in a while but good that you catch them while driving at night sometimes!

Can I smack.you now?...
Id like to see Alaska too.. or the Yukon...
Would be nice if you were taking time to go up that way you actually explore my land too rather than just skip like most do...much of the northern parts of my land are pretty much same as alaska and reallg just transition into that landscape...
Looks like you just got a novel.... enjoy it.

I gotta say that is something I did not really know because I have been to southern Canada myself and was there in the summer but sounds like they are kinda not common to see them bit I did not know you could see them at that time of year on any given night as I thought they only showed up at winter, however the more I think about it I know they come from solar flares that occur all the time but they are just easier to see in winter overall. However that does make perfect since if you would be used to them at this point.
you right on that.. they are harder to see in summer simply cause the night skies dont get as dark, but in my case i do live far enough out of the city and far enough from light pollution i can still see them in he summer.. more faintly and not as frequently but still can, but sometimes quite brightly still in summer.
but yes winter is best time to see them simply cause the night skies are so much darker and longer.. i also happen to live kinda on the edge of where the lower curve of the aurora belt comes down. it angles down form Churchill Manitoba and stops just above me then curves back up north, so with stronger solar storms i do see them directly over head sometimes..
sometimes on rare occasion even slightly into the southern direction for me, but thats not to often..
I have to admit, i think living far enough out in the country away from light polution has spoiled me a bit when it comes to the night sky, even with how well i see the start.. i sometimes dont realize what i get to see ever night until im reminded

Glad to hear that I am because that does make since that it would be harder to see due to not getting as dark as soon as it would in winter in the first place. However that makes more scene that you would be able to see them easier being in a really good place far enough outside of town. Also wow that does sound amazing being where you are at and being able to see the lower curve of the aurora belt which would allow you to see the overhead sometimes I would imagian, however it does help being where you live to see them like that. I can also understand how being that far our and seeing them all the time you could start taking them for granted sometimes.
