Birds are rough to deal with when they're injured. They'll typically consume more energy hiding the fact they're hurt from others than actually healing, which ends up killing them.

Good practice if you really want to try helping it is to leave it in a secluded area away from people and animals. Preferably outside. If the bird can fly away, its healthy enough. If it wont fly or is limping.. chances are its not going to make it a day. Birds are incredibly fickle, even one day of no food can cause them serious health, but at the same time, you cant force them to eat :(

Bigger birds are easier to help, like owls, hawks, and eagles, and if you happen to come across one of them, you should immediately call a shelter for instructions. Note: it may be illegal to bring some species into your house! Injured or otherwise! There's typically a bird sanctuary *somewhere* near by.

I take it to a vet or something, atleast if he is hurt they might find someone to look after him or let him go and just keep a close watch?
