The Return of the Hungry Hippo Hero!
This Lion Guard story was an idea I had for a sequel to one of my previous ones, in which Beshte uses the power of Vore to keep his friends safe inside crocodile infested waters.
Link to that story here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/20834528/
In this one he finds himself having to do this thing again, but the scale of what he has to eat this time might be more then his huge hippo frame might handle!
This time the art work is done as a paid commission for
Piromane and the link to it can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/21650063/
Update!
Now there is also some fanart made by the always talented

Beshte and the rest of the Lion Guard characters belongs to Disney.
Many tales and legends had been told over the Pride Lands, but none of them was as weird as the recent tale about how almost all of the members of "The Lion Guard" had ended up eaten by one of their owns!
It was when facing a river filled with crocodiles that the hippo Beshte had been coming up with the an idea to carry the rest of the team over "safely", that eventually lead to him swallowing up Kion, Bunga, and Fuli, and keep them all inside of his belly as she swam them across the waters!
This had all been during a trip they made in order to make a diplomatic mission meeting a different lion tribe, but the word about the "Hippo Eating Friend" had very quickly been spread from Buffalo to Panthers to Birds, and so on.
It spread so fast that the story about Beshte's way of "helping" his fellow Lion Guards had ended up reaching back to Pride Lands before even the guards themselves was home!
And upon returning back from the mission the hippo in question noticed how he was a bit of a "celebrity" now, as wherever he walked he would notice many animals whispering about him and he would often feel like the centre of attention despite not having done anything.
But mostly it was how he was being treated by all the animal children that made his legends of fame very clear, as he would often be greeted by a small pile of them and they would all be wishing him to either tell them about how it felt having the other ones inside of him, what made him get that idea in the first place, and if they could try to have a trip themselves inside of him.
For the most parts Beshte had no problems answering all the curious questions the little ones would be asking him, but when it came to them wishing to be inside his belly he had to put down his foot and tell them that that would never happen.
"It's not like I enjoyed having my friends in there. If something went wrong with them then I would have never been able to forgive myself!" Beshte said before starting to feel a bit down in front of the kids.
"Oh. W-We're sorry if we made you sad Beshte." The kids said, to which the big kind hippo said that it was okay.
"I understand that this story is so fascinating and interesting for you kids to ask about. Heck, had I heard it I would have probably also have a few question to ask the one that dared keep his best friends in his belly." Besthe said before returning back to his usual positive manners, and chuckling a bit over just how weird of a story this truly was.
After a few weeks Beshte's "popularity" started to fade down (as next to all the animals in Pride Lands had meet Beshte in person at least once now, and got to ask him all about the incident.), and for the hippo guard it was back to regular business of helping others, as even he himself almost started to forget that he had even done it once. (But very soon destiny would want for Beshte to do his special way of "helping others" to come back again.)
The elements of the weather was not looking very kindly over the Pride Lands, as the talks of a great storm was to come and with it bring more rain then ever before seen!
Luckily almost all of the animals living there either could hide up in the big strong trees (Like the birds and apes), or they had been giving permission to seek for shelter inside the lion king's home Priderock.
But there had been reports about one animal group still being in the danger zone for the massive rain and flood, and the lion guard quickly made their way to see how they could help.
Once arriving they found out that the animals in question was Meerkats, and it was a really huge colony with over 100s of the little critters!
"What shall we do Kion?" Fuli asked, as Ono added in from the sky that, "We might only have a few minutes to act before we are looking for a flood here!"
Kion original plan was to simply lead the animal herd in question over to the nearest safety ground, but given just how many these tiny ones are it would be a real challenge to keep them all together and not make them panic.
"Bunga. One of your uncles is a meerkat, so do you think you know any way to help these?" The lion leader asked the honey badger, who in return just looked at him funny and said, "Just because I know ONE meerkat it doesn't mean I know how ALL meerkats act." (And Kion had to agree that that might have been a bit short sighted on his side.)
"Okay. First thing firsts. We need to get every single meerkat out of the tunnels and up to the surface, or else the might risk drowning as their homes gets flooded." Kion said, and his entire Lion Guard team was quick in response to try and put the plan in action with all creative ways.
Besthe did some heavy stomping right above the tunnels to make them move, and Bunga went into some of the holes to personally tell them that they needed to escape this place, and shortly after they could all witness how more then 100 meerkat was crawling up from the undergrounds and gathering together in one big pile!
"Now that we got your all together I can tell you all that we are in a very serious situation. Very shortly we might have a flood coming here brought by this rain, and when that happens your homes will be in directly in the middle of it's full force." Kion explained, and upon hearing how serious the situation was many of the little critters started to get really nervous.
"But fear not! We are the Lion Guard, and we are here to make sure to both take you to safety and find a new home for you..." Kion continued on when suddenly Ono started to panic from the sky.
"Hapana!!! Kion!" He shouted as she dived down to quickly get back to the rest of his team.
"Ono, what's going on?" Kion asked, and in-between panting for air out of nervousness Ono managed to utter, "I-It's the river...it's coming now!"
Starring out at the distance the group could see how what seemed like a giant title wave was coming towards them at a great speed!
"What do we do now?!" Bunga asked, as he for the first time showed some genuine fear over what was about to happen.
"Run out of the way!" Kion shouted back, and without thinking any further all of the Lion Guard members and the 100s of Meerkats each chose a direction to toss themselves at, as the very place they had all stood on just seconds ago got engulfed by the streams!
When looking back they noticed how the group was now split up into two sides that was cut away from the waters.
On one side was Kion, Fuli, and Ono, and on the other one was Beshte, Bunga, and all the very scared Meerkats.
"Is everyone alright?" Kion asked over the roaring waters to the ones on the opposite side, and Bunga could confirm that they still had all the Meerkats "safe and sound".
Kion then asked if Ono would be able to fly over to assist Bunga and Beshte, but when the avian one of the team explained that his wings was to wet to do "any successful flying" the lion leader knew that Bunga and Beshte had to carry on the responsibility of transporting the Meerkats all by themselves.
"No problems! Beshte and I will meet you later back at Pride Rocks with all of them!" Bunga shouted back, before the two groups decided to split away.
Still things wouldn't be as easy as the path directly to Pride Rocks was on the side that Kion, Fuli, and Ono was on, making it an even longer and more difficult journey for Bunga and Beshte to bring their company to safety.
At first their travelling seemed to be going pretty well (With Beshte walking ahead as a "shield" to protect the group from any incoming dangers, and Bunga doing the job of keeping the Meerkats calm and collective.), but very soon the constant raining added with the sound of the roaring river and the occasional thunder lighting was starting to make the large group acting more and more scared! (And it was getting harder for Bunga to keep them from not running away in all kinds of directions.)
"Are you doing all right Bunga?" Beshte asked concerned, and while the Honey Badger didn't want to come with bad news he had to be honest and tell the big guy that if they didn't find a way to keep all the Meerkats rounded up then they might end up with them all running away in panic.
"Any ideas on what we can do Beshte? Cause I am lost at the moment." Bunga said, and Beshte was going to say that he didn't know anything either when he suddenly did. It wasn't something he was very proud of, but it was honestly the best thing for them to do.
"Bunga..." Beshte said before hesitating.
"Yes? If you have an idea then spit it out! We need one now!" Bunga told the big hippo, who looked down at his friend and hinted that they might have to use the "trust" thing with the Meerkats. (As to not scare them by down right saying that he was going to eat them.)
"If you feel that you can do it then that's perfect!" Bunga said happily before Beshte added that he also wished for the Honey Badger to tell it to the Meerkats for him. (As Bunga had so far been proving the best one to tell important things to the herd.)
Fully understanding what he meant Bunga started to explain to the large herd how by getting inside of Beshte would be the most safest thing to do, as the large beast himself started to open up his big mouth widely.
As Bunga helped painting up the full picture for the Meerkats he could see that at first they all looked pretty speechless and unable to take in what he had been saying, but as soon as some of them spotted Beshte's wide open gap resting at the ground they suddenly started to race each other as to see who could get inside first!
Beshte hadn't been fully sure if the scared creatures would even dare get into his mouth, and even if they did he thought that it would have been a slow and careful process.
Instead it was as a sudden flood of fur and feet came washing straight into him, as he could feel them all grab onto his big teeth and lips, run over his tongue, dive down his throat, and settle in inside his big belly at the very same time!
Bunga could only watch on as he saw how his already big buddy was quickly expanding outwards in his belly area, as the entire herd of Meerkats was trying to fit inside of him!
After only 40 seconds over 100 tiny critters was now settled inside the big spherical dome of the hippo's gut. (Who by now was feeling like he had been having the largest meal of his life!)
"Are you okay Beshte?!" Bunga asked, as he saw Beshte seemed to be in a lot of pains over his suddenly fullness.
"I'm fine. I...BURP!!! Just feel like I might end up bursting at any moment." Beshte said as he let out a big burp to help with the pressure he felt inside, and on very wobbling legs started moving forward.
Bunga insisted that they could just let out all the Meerkats from his insides if it was being to much of a burden for the big guy, but Beshte said that he "Don't want to let them down." and that, "They seem to feel extra safe when inside of me.".
Feeling his low hanging belly brushing up against the dirt from under him Beshte could very well feel how stuff like small rocks and fallen over branches was way harder to move over. (As his belly would end up stuck against most of it.)
"Twende Kiboko!" The great hippo kid would shut many times as he had to use some extra energy to make his boulder heavy middle lift enough to move over said rocks and sticks. (With some help from Bunga trying to also lift the belly up for assistance.)
All of the sudden Beshte's belly started to act like crazy, as it would start to shake and wobble like mad, and several dozens of tine little bumps started to be seen punching out from his thick skin!
"What's happening Besthe?!" Bunga asked worringly, to which Beshte looked equally confused over his own body's acting at first before saying, "I think the Meerkats are getting worried in there! It might be first now that they realise that they are inside the belly of another animal and not in a tunnel. And now they are trying to find a way out of me!"
"Well can't you spit them out or something?" Bunga asked as he saw the hippo belly act wilder and wilder in horror.
"Sadly no. I just can't focus to tell my body to do anything while it is acting like this!" Beshte said before starting to let out big moans in pain. "If this doesn't stop soon then I might burst!"
Hearing that his friend was in danger Bunga did the only logical thing he could think of as he make a quick spurt for it, made a big jump into the air, and shouted "Hey Beshte! Open up!" before diving headfirst into the gap of his Hippo friend yet again.
A quick "Zuka Zama!" could be heard as the Honey Badger disappeared into the closing jaws of the big beast, and Beshte couldn't for the life of himself understand how this was Bunga's way of "Helping" him.
"Urgh. Just what my belly needed. One more to take up space!" Beshte said as he ended up losing strength in his legs, and rolled over onto his back to ease his now even tighter filled stomach!
Entering into the stomach chamber Bunga could see that indeed it was full on madness inside here, as some Meerkat was trying to scratch themselves out of the belly walls, some was running head first into some walls as hard as they could, and some of them was just running circles and making scared screaming sounds.
Hearing the loud moans of pain from the outside Bunga knew he had to act quickly, as he took a deep breath before shouting at the top of his lungs, "WOULD YOU ALL JUST STOP MOVING AROUND?!"
This sudden burst of loudness from Bunga made all the Meerkats stopped right with what they were doing, and with no more sudden movements from his belly Beshte could be heard saying that, "It feels a lot better now."
Realising that the Meerkats still was very scared and confused over everything Bunga decided to try and give them another pep talk.
"Listen. I know that you all must be feeling really scared right now. You have just lost your homes, been chased by a natural disaster, and is now standing in the belly of another animal like you where it's lunch. Take it from someone that has been in this belly before (As well as some other animal's bellies), this is actually not so bad. This is Beshte's belly, and I know that Beshte is not someone that would ever let anyone end up as a simple meal to him. Beshte is the most kind-hearted and carrying friend that I know, and having you all inside of him is his way of protecting you the most. But when you all start to panic and run around you are hurting him, and if something happens to Beshte so that he can't protect you any longer then you will all be totally defenceless!"
Bunga could see that many of the Meerkat still looked a bit at ease from that last part of his speech, so to make sure that both they (and Beshte) would still be alright the Honey Badger decided to make a deal with them.
"Okay. How about this? I stay in here with you for company, and I will make sure that nothing bad will happen to any of you for the rest of this journey?" Bunga asked, and it didn't take long for all the Meerkats to agree on that deal.
"Seems like I have to stay in here Beshte! I hope you can manage to walk if I keep them all still!" Bunga then shouted up to his hippo pal, and feeling his previously wild belly being very calm now Beshte also felt that carrying them all towards Pride Lands would be much more possible.
"Twende Kiboko!" Beshte shouted out as he once again lifted his 1 ton heavy gut up once again, and continued on with his now solo journey through the heavy rain and slow pace.
From the insides both Bunga and the Meerkats had to admit that the Hippo belly was the best place to be in during a storm like this. They felt a lot more dry in their fur, and the calm peddling of the gut was even starting to make them all feel sleepy.
As Bunga's eyes grew heavier he could feel how all the Meerkats was laying next to him for safe company. (Making it feel like he had a living blanket covering himself.)
"No fears friends...with Beshte we will be "Yawn", safe...ZZZZZ" Bunga said before he (Along with the other) went into a small sleep inside the stomach.
For Beshte the minimum movements inside of him was very welcomed as it meant less thinking about what's his own body would do, and more focus for his destination instead.
Still the lack of movement did make him a bit worried, so on some occasions he did turns his head back down towards his low hanging belly and asked "Are you guys still okay in there?", to which he would just get a sorta annoyed "Yes, but please be quiet. We are all trying to sleep in here." from Bunga in return.
As a Hippo being big (especially around the belly area) was considered a sign of strength amongst males, and given how large and heavy his was right now Beshte was actually starting to get a tiny bit jealous that this wasn't his natural weight.
"If any of those cute Hippo girls could see me now." He thought as he couldn't help but feel strangely proud over how huge and thick his gut was.
If anything this gave him the ideas of maybe swallowing up huge boulders and practice moving around with them inside of him.
"Would help make my already awesome strength even greater!" The Muscles of the Lion Guard thought, as he was starting to spot a very familiar rock formation just at the distance.
He had finally reached back to the familiar territories, and almost as a sign of this long and hard challenge being over Beshte could see how the rain was stopping and the sun was starting to show itself once again.
And as he started to enter the Pride Lands again it didn't take long until he was found by his fellow Lion Guard members. (Who was all wondering just where both Bunga and all the Meerkats was.)
"Just give me a second." Beshte said before he open his mouth up wide and nudged his giant belly with one of his legs.
What followed then for Kion, Fuli, and Ono to witness was a minor army of Meerkats coming out at a consistent pace from the mouth of Beshte! (With Bunga himself riding on top of the emigration wave, being the only one still fully asleep.)
Once woken up Bunga was first confused over still not being in dark and cramped space (And even going so far as to think he died as a meal, and that the sunny place here must be heaven for him.), but upon seeing all the Meerkats safe and sound he quickly realised that Beshte had actually managed to make it through.
"I knew it Beshte! I knew you had literally the guts to succeed!" Bunga said to Beshte, who just blushed over the pun-filled compliment before adding that Bunga's own technique for calming the Meerkat's had also helped a lot.
"Beshte and Bunga. I am very proud over your rescue mission, and that you managed to keep all of the Meerkats safe from the storm." Kion said before turning his attention to said Meerkats. "And for you all I can say now is that me and my family is fully welcoming you to your new home, and we hope that you will all enjoy your stay here."
For all the Meerkats this was an even better place then what they had previously been used to, and knowing that they would always have the Lion Guard's protection from now on just made them feel even more safe.
As for Beshte the story about him swallowing up whole herd of animals made for him to sound like an even greater hero in everyone's eyes, but when also knowing that it almost caused the great hippo to pop from the pressure even the smallest of kids learned to knew that maybe trying to make Beshte eat them wouldn't be such a smart idea. (And Besthe himself was pretty happy knowing he wouldn't risk having an excited elephant kid jump straight into his mouth the next time he was caught yawning in public.)
