This was personally a long time coming. I had always dreaded him asking for something like this, actually.

Valerie is my most dated character, having had a huge number of redesigns over pretty much a good portion of my life at this point. I always thought and rethought how she would interact with other people. I just made her one day out of a desire to be a figure of absolutes, merciless and solitary, perfect justice. Over the years, she changed. Personally it's because I've lost the reason to be all that passionate about being vindictive to people around me being outside of high school and university days, and past a hurdle of crying myself to sleep on a hospital bed for a month fearing for my own life. Life kind of killed my interest in getting all that angry.

Then I started adapting her into Pathfinder given the opportunity. Path of War from Dreamscarred Press, as a Warder, Dervish Defender, the Eye of the Storm. No furry, but as a human, to play and interact with other people. I found myself acting her out organically and she was as normal a person as I can make her. Empathetic and friendly, if difficult to express it at times. The sense of duty and absolutes has become secondary to just caring. She's still a nigh-untouchable whirlwind of blades as I can make her, but now usually extended over people she wanted to protect. I just can't bring myself to do otherwise.

And so this has gotten to stray away from what I think is canon. I've decided the only reason she'd do this now, is because this is the last time she'd try at  janusw's character. She won't even desire to succeed, but only salute to something about her past in honorable combat. She'd just concede, at some point, tend to both sets of injuries and walk away.

I'm sorry if that disappoints the commissioner, but well. My thoughts, anyway.
