Well, the end of November is certainly busy. Humans got that Thanksgiving thing that was essentially a "landing date" for pilgrims way back, though which later became some sort of treaty thing with native Indians, later to a dinner with turkey between the two groups...and...ok, maybe it's not exactly something celebrated by one side there...
......OK, moving on!
Nowadays, Thanksgiving is generally seen in the thinnest sense as a day of things to be grateful for. Getting together with friends or more commonly family to eat a large home-cookin' meal and enjoy conversation...
Then, typically, the next day everyone goes out and mobs various businesses dealing in purchased goods for marked down prices, practically assuring that the previous day was really just something to make them feel better about planting a Jordan sneaker on some old woman's face for a discounted Hatchimal (Give the creators props, I don't know if anybody ever advertised a toy that...well...you couldn't see, because it was in an egg. WONDER WHY NOBODY ELSE DOES THAT.)
Personally I got my fill from Store War Day, and I just sat back and didn't even step a foot past those sliding doors (Ok, granted, if I DID, hysteria. Then again, shoppers would already...be...hysteria at the time wouldn't it?). Point is, humans get CRAZY, or use it as an excuse to be so.
But back to Thanksgiving, or rather what to be thankful for.
Come on, you know it, I know it, a large among of the population knows it. A LOT of us know exactly what to be thankful for. For the uninitiated, let me tell ya.
FINAL FANTASY 15 IS FINALLY COMING OUT!
Yes, the title had been pushed back about two months or so from it's original release date, but gratis, lets not smudge over how long it really took.
Final Fantasy 15 stems back practically a decade ago, when it was first announced as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, part of the "Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy" subseries that had a common mythos about it. But from this beginning it has changed greatly.
I don't recall seeing too much of FFV13, other than the teaser with a very different Noctis. The game went through a lot of concepts, eventually coming to the conclusion of being something like Kingdom Heart's gameplay. But development was slow. Slow enough, it took several years. Final Fantasy 13 kept the reigns, with FF14 coming later, having two sequels as time went on. Not to mention a whole slew of other FF inspired titles. Around 2012 or so, people began thinking it was dead. Why not? It's taken SO long.
Then, in 2014, it premiered. A demo of FF15, Episode Duscae. Like the announcement of FF7's Remake (more on that when the time comes), it was amazing to hear the project was still in the ring and going strong.
Later, another part of the FNCFF, Final Fantasy Agito, became Type-0, which later DID come out from it's homeland, albiet only for the PS4, despite thought of a PS3 release. But when that came out, it came with something awesome. We got the playable demo for FF15. The demo showcased a departure from the typical Final Fantasy venue. Gone are the ATBs and Magic Points (later is a surprise for me) and turn-based combat. Now, we have fluid live-action combat mechanic, akin to Kingdom Hearts, and a much vaster world to explore.
Another interesting tibit is that it seems we have a four-person party (akin to FF9's 8, with four in combat), all consisting of guys. Yep. A full-male party. This harkins back to FFX-2's all-female party (Yuna, Rikku, and newcomer Paine). Personally I liked FFX-2, and not just because of all the costumes, er classes. It was fluid and fun. FF15 just goes the other direction. And coming off the series Brotherhood, it'll be nice to see some comradeship that shows not all us guys are boneheads with swords looking to smash all-barbarian style (if you want that, see Zorn, it's funny).
While there was another demo that came out later, Platinum, it's worth noting something about Episode Duscae I don't think anybody has ever done before. They patched it. Get that? They PATCHED a demo. Through fan-feedback, things got tweaked for the main game and the demo. I've never heard of that before.
From there, I took it as a sign that Square really is trying to make up for the long wait. More came. Along with the demos, and the normal pre-order bonuses, we also got ourselves an anime series, a movie, and a beat'em up game to boot. I was really glad to hear about the movie, nice to get you in the mood for the main event.
Of course talk from there keeps going. Me personally? I've tried to keep myself as contained as possible. I know about the obvious, like the summons and chocobos, but for the most part, I want to get clear eyes on the world of FF15 and experience it as fresh as possible. It's taken a decade, it HAS to be good...right?
Well of course, it's Final Fantasy!
So, while I haven't played the demos, I did load up an encounter from news bits in a simulation just for the occasion. I'm not really a car person, but hey, the Regalia's comfy and it's going to be the fifth party member essentially. I heard it can fly too, down the line...though you...have to make...manual...landings...guess that's where my adventure ends ahem. But overall, I am looking forward to it.
Hm...gotta say, I look quite wicked here. Maybe it's the shades, everybody looks cooler in shades.

I actually prefer the Turn based Final Fantasy games, X, specifically. Games like this, where you move around and attack, require skill and I'm usually not good at them. I can get through them, just not flawlessly.
For turn based ones, you need less skill and focuses more on Strategy and Intellect, such as using Armor Break to weaken enemies and inflicting darkness to prevent them from hitting you.
