Part of this year has been coming to terms with the fact that I've been on chemo for 5 years. I will continue to be one chemo for the rest of my life until they figure out something that works better to stop my immune system from killing itself.
This year I finally had to give in to the fact that after multiple EEGs plus the chemo, that my hair wasn't coming back any time soon (April).
So I did what any other nonchalant person does.. I shaved it all off. I had a horrible leopard spot thing going but sometimes I was ok rocking it that way.
For the most part I've been into the Tichel and Hijab scene to cover my head.. also it's warmer that way. My hair is finally starting to come back in normally, so we'll so how long it takes to be me again.

You'd be surprised by the good and bad comments in the beginning. That or the amount of times I've been called sir in the last 6 months. It still baffles me how I get the sir in there because even in a hoodie boobs are a thing..
The funniest one was at GameStop the other day since the clerk there is familiar with me. Guy in front was like I need to go out to my car to get it you can help the guy behind me... The clerk corrected him for me. It was great.

I can believe that. Either way you know my position on all this. As I pointed out before I do like you a lot. No matter whether you have hair or not.
But the situation you described nichely illustrates how ingrained stereotypes are in our society.
An example for this:
Women have long hair, men don't.
Women have bigger breasts than men.
Both these points are proven wrong by a very good friend of mine when compared to myself. She keeps her hair quite short most of the time while i tend to get a haircut only when my hair becomes bothersome. As for breasts,hers just didn' t grow a whole lot. As such she too is occasionally mistaken for a guy - for much the same reason.

I just have those for sure natural big awkward things that show through everything, and I wish they would help me out like they used to in being called a girl.

Well that is a good thing, is it not? But it doesn't have too much to do with age I think. My girlfriend is 32 and definitively on the cuddly side. So what? I like cuddly - plus it is her mind that captured my interest. I have only seen a very few people willing to sacrifice as much to help out others.
Oh and on a side-note I too am currently wearing the flesh-hat. Although in my case it was to save the money for a haircut.
