I'm going to start out by saying I never expected this costume to turn into anything more than that. I fully expected to wear it to a few cons and then move on with my life. And then Planet Comiccon happened and I realized first, that the 501st Legion existed and second, that I wanted to be a part of that.

I had no idea what I was getting into

Kylo Ren is hands down the most complex outfit I have made to date
The soft parts have undergone three revisions, the helmet had two and hundreds of hours were put into research, testing things, PLEATS, and overall just making everything fall into place

And seeing it all fall together, seeing kids faces light up or taking selfies with them or dabbing (why??) has made all that struggling, all those tears (PLEATS) worth it

This is something that I am proud of
This is something that I am proud to be wearing. This is something that I feel good in. This is a costume, that, for once in my life, I feel confident in

And really, that's all I've ever wanted

The Legion is amazing
The people I've met have been nothing but kind and supportive and the work so many of them do to keep this whole thing going is nothing short of mind blowing. All of this is volunteer based. All of it. And there are so many selfless people that keep this up
