I didn't realize he was still aliveto be brutally honest, I thought he passed away a couple of months after the other guy took over in his place. He hasn't that I'm aware of been spotted publicly in any recent memory sense the present dictator took over and I was under the oppression that it eventually got out he died while in hospital. You're telling me the SoB has been alive all this time probably. Hooked up to a respirator or something. Given how sick he was when the new leader took over. I would've assumed that they would've quickly let him pass on his own without keeping him alive. Guy was a general all-around dick but just seems kind of cruel that they kept him alive. Given how sick he was last. I remember.
Oh I have, plus know numerous Cubans who escaped during his rein in the 60s-80s. The man, especially during that time frame was a dictator. He started his expansionist plans in the 70s starting in Angola, Rhodesia, plus numerous Latin conflicts. His record on human rights had even the UN involved. Plus the countless number of Cubans striking north to escape the terror. Starved his own people and even made it criminal to grow your own food.
Yet welcomed fat cat fellow communists and sympathetic westerners showing them the glories of Cuba while the rest of the show was an illusion.
Yeah, the man was a saint, savior, the milk of human kindness. Bullshit.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union did his financial backers stopped supporting his bush wars and had to loosen the noose around the necks of his citizens. Numerous news agencies smuggling out videos of how life wasn't a communist paradise and his failing health curb him more.
Here's hopefully Raul will loosen up more now that he doesn't have his brother barking commands anymore.

Just where does this 'Saint' BS come from? You can't be Mr Nicey-Nice when you're having to rebuild your country from the ruins that capitalism, particularly the U.S. version, left it in and then enforced through the use of economic /physical blockades. Can't rebuild without some form of capital, and this is where the Russians and state owned sugar come in, bad choice though it was, but it was basically their only choice other than resubmitting themselves back under the yoke of corporate American slavery. (Raul is finding out this fact in his dealings with China.)
Thus the reason south FL was sacrificed to big sugar and Las Vegas to the Mob, to name just two. There is a reason the term 'banana republic' exists and it is purely American in origin, How dare those citizens take control over their lives and country and interfere with American multi-national corporate profits. Just think about that the next time you encounter a banana. Also, Iran fits into this process too.
And before you go writing bad names and such about this ancient history, go out and take a good look at our country (preferably without any lame-stream media filters on) and maybe, just maybe, you'll see the similar situation shaping up in our own country with it's abandoned cities, poisoned water, privatized public services and on-going and quite massive resource extraction off to the new economic power in the world, and to a greater/lesser extent happening to the rest of the world.
'Divide-n-Conquer' is still a functional capitalist strategy and is being used to great effect right here in the good ol U. S. of A.

The author doesn't know when 'Dr.' got put in front of his name but the points he made are quite valid even for the 'Inverted Totalitarianism' under which we now find ourselves.

Good thing he's not actually trying to convince anyone, huh? Just a bunch of tired pronouncements and sloganeering. I heard better and more catchy sloganeering out of the campus activists when I was in undergrad, and generally presented with a great deal more zest and gravitas.
What squirrel-boy is presenting is just about as engaging and refreshing as a popcorn fart out of Lenin's preserved, plastic corpse.
I dunno about you, but the only thing this twit is giving me is a headache. No different than when a Justin Bieber song comes on the radio. I just grab the remote and change the station.

I guess thousands of Cubans were just fleeing his greatness. Or he lived like a king because he was so charitable? Communism looks so nice when you're not the one living in it. But hey freedom of speech and the press are overrated and out dated. Communism never works, there is always someone who holds the power.
You're out of date on what 'freedoms' you think you have. 'cough' patriot act, defense re-authorization act 'cough'
Also, State based capitalism does not equal Communism and suffers from the same flaws as private capitalism, as it too is also extremely unstable.
Food for thought: What happens when you 'win' a game of 'monopoly'.
As to some of those 'fleeing' Cubans, it was a great way to empty out the jails. The rest didn't like loosing their ill-gotten gains or the ability to engage in such activity.

So you actually go around there in Tampa, believing that Cuba is a magical place to live because Castro's regime made it a sparkling paradise to live in. Dude , WHY ARE YOU LIVING IN HELL THEN? Move to Cuba. Surely they have narrow guage trains you can fap to there plus all those like minded people like yourself where you can wear your Che shirt and high five each other and say "Isn't Cuba so wonderful? Glad we live here than in that prison camp north of us."
Love how you defend your faulty ideals by attcking me for stuff I've never typed, classic rightwingnut.
The Cuban community in Tampa bares no resemblance to the rabble down in Miami.
Who's country made Cuba an island prison camp?
Who's country has torture camps parked around the world, including in Cuba?
Who's country has decided that the 'Bill of Rights' no longer applies to its own citizenry and that that same citizenry are now eligible to be sent to those camps without trial?
Who's country has decided that money has more rights than flesh-n-blood?
Who's country has endless amounts of borrowed money to spend on battlefields around the globe, but nothing to spend on its own citizenry or internal infrastructure?
Who's country has spent billion$ militarizing it police force?
That is not the country that I nor my family put our lives on the line for, and have learned that what I thought was a country to defend isn't worth that effort. And I want to make my country into something closer to that myth I was brought up to believe in.
All the while you want to believe your puny little guns and a bunker are going to protect you? Or have you already chosen a side?
Do you honestly think that you can stand up to an Abrams M1A2 backing toward you? Let alone an MRAP with sound and water cannons?
Now prove any of this wrong!

Soooo many opinions for such a small rodent.
So many opinions that you probably require a second asshole. Maybe Rabbi can draw it for you before he troll-bans you. Perhaps he'll even shave it for you. Less resistance for inserting your head, after all. Or perhaps Richard Gere needs a new friend. His career's a little slow these days.

No reason to make him famous and draw something of him for free. He's disillusioned by noticing that the rims on the car that is the USA has some dings and the chrome needs polished. Not willing to put in work and just casts away an otherwise good vehicle for freedom. Fuck him, America may have miles on her but I'd rather work on her than trade in.
A goofball cartoon with dated propagandist claims and the burden of proof lies with me?
You neglected to list the rest of the corporate owned media I see. Who's your fav?
To sort this out is what? a 24 credit-hour college course?
It would have been interestingly different if Teddy had made it a state after taking the island away from Spain.

Pointing out that your world view is deeply flawed is 'trolling'.
Arguing up against ignorance is a futile endeavor and thanks for admitting that you are at the same level as a moldy potato, saves us both time and typing.
And later, when you feel the need to blame someone just go look in a mirror.

This has done nothing to prove my statement false, now has it?
You compared me to a 'Moldy Potato' and how is that not a claim of 'moral superiority'.
I have not resorted to any name calling beyond 'ignorant' which is sufficient as a lot of people confuse it with 'stupid' and they shouldn't. Now I'm not a 'know-it-all' as I'm still learning new info, both factually backed and plain crap, every day. usually about the same subject too.
Add to that, You as well as I, have our trusted sources, I will, as I hope you do, occasionally wonder over the web looking into some of the counter sources to see what their spin is and what their info sources are.
And if calling into question under-informed people who use rightwing catch phrases (especially moldy oldies) or hold to factually suspect world views is 'trolling' then yeah it is somewhat fun in a sad way.

With Cuban Cigars no longer being wink-wink-nudge-nudge-nudgy-winky-winky "illegal" nudgy wink wink nudge then he had nothing left to live for.
I'm sure they're a fine cigar. But I suspect most of the reason they were so popular *was* becasue of that "Tee hee giggle giggle 'illegal' giggle tee hee ooh aren't I naughty in a #IllegalButNotReallyIllegalNotLikeDrugsOrSovietMidgetBestialityPornKindOfWay "

I didn't vote for Turd-Owe Jr.
You can chalk that up to my Mother's generation, who instantly brew a fondue in their panties at the very mention of the word 'Trudeau'.
I spent half my childhood hearing her, and her female friends gushing over how 'handsome' Pierre was, and how dreamy 'Little Justin' would grow up to be.

It's the same with all dictators, claims to be doing it for the people when he was doing it only for himself. And even if he did a lot of supposed "wonderful" things, we still shouldn't ignore the nasty shit he perpetrated in order to do it.
I'm still waiting for Kim Jong Un.

Yeah, you're behind the times on the whole (((Jew))) thing. :P
The current SJW "narrative" is that the "real" Jews all died out and/or were converted to Islam long ago. The current SJW buzz-phrase is that all the modern so-called "Jews" are actually "AskeNAZI Khazars".
So, erasure of the Holocaust has now led to erasure of the Jewish identity, itself.

is it them or Us Furries is it them or Us that are the 99.9% sure he did kill his rivals but funny things happen during revolutions. even allies become bitter enemies if they cannot see how to work together. but the CIA where involved in the previous government. Look it up it was not as clean as we there told, the US Industry referred to Cuba as a Cash Cow or Tax Haven a few people made money and all that wealth Left the country leaving the people fighting for what they could to survive. Dose this sound familiar? Look at our Current stat of affairs CAN/US/MEX Trade nothing is Produced in US/CAN/MEX now save for a few products to say "see we produce domestic Products" what do all your Lables say?? where is what you eat, ware and use "PRODUCED" not packed not processed not assembled.
I believed all I was taught until I read machiavelli's "the Prince" then I checked for Ideas of the Prince in all modern Democratic and Republic Societies and found them all. even Bate and Switch and Carrot on a Stick there are Dozens more examples of supposed good countries using the same techniques to accomplish there goals... even resorting to Poisoning there own citizens to prevent new disruptive technology and calling others fraudulent to preserve the status quo. My point is no one is immune to Greed and corruption. (See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Prince) it changed me forever. and I saw North America for what it was a Corrupt society that called innocent foreigners enemies and now calls peaceful protestors Terrorists. all for the sake of Oil and Resources that we have in abundance here and a Really large workforce that is treated as Useless. we allowed corporations to take away our jobs for the sake of a few people getting rich. and it is all a Lie so they can make more money.
What I recall of Machiavelli was that he was more an observer and stenographer of and for the Borgia Family. So he was codifying the rules as it were, and yes they really haven't changed.
One of the the new terms now being batted about is 'Inverted Totalitarianism', same old process just without the figurehead at the top.
