Duskblades are awesome, really! Main weakness is their VERY slow spell progression, but buy some scrolls and you're good! What I did with Zellos is multiclass the hll out of him, like so:
Duskblade 7/Fighter 4/Wizard X/and Spellsword 10 (spellsword can be found in the complete warrior, btw)
The "X" in Wizard is his current leveling up class. Currently, he's Wizard 6.
Physical stats are
Str: 30 (+10)
Dex: 20 (+5)
Con: 21 (+5)
Int: 28 (+9)
Wis: 16 (+3)
Cha: 17 (+3)
He wields a Starmetal Greatsword, +5, enchanted with Acidic Burst, Corrosive Surge, and Screaming Burst, and wears Mithral Full Plate Mail of Heavy Fortification, +5 (Mithral makes it medium, so he gets no spell failure! ^_^). He carries a Tower Shield of Death Ward, +5.
His Duskblade spells are:
0) Acid Splash, Prestidigitation, Open/Close, Disrupt Undead, Read Magic, Daze, Ghost Sound, Message, Dancing Lights, and Resistance.
1)Blade of Blood (LOVE this one!), Kelgore's Firebolt, Magic Weapon, Obscuring Mist, Shocking Grasp, and True Strike.
2)Dimension Hop, Seeking Ray, Ghoul Touch, and Spider Climb.
And I'd make you a list of his Wizard spells, but that'd take too long.
His Feats are: Improved Critical (Greatsword)
Weapon Focus (Greatsword)
Greater Weapon Focus (Greatsword)
Power Attack
Cleave
Spontaneous Spell (Stop Heart) (which is one of his Wizard spells, level 5 from the Book of Vile Darkness. Also, I think this feat is in the Complete Arcane)
Practiced Spellcaster (Complete Arcane, I think.)
Tower Shield Proficiency
Monkey Grip (Complete Warrior; allows one handed wielding of a 2-handed melee weapon)
Channel Ray (An Epic level Duskblade feat, not sure which book.)
Improved Initiative
Vatic Gaze (Player's Handbook II)
Lightning Reflexes
Improved Shield Bash
Dire Charge
Anything else you'd like to know? :)

Nope, no god fighting, our group doesn't like that. But I used magic, and tomes, and such to raise them. For example, I cast Bear's Endurance on myself, followed by Permanency to make it stick. That boosted my Con from 16 to 20.
I had a Tome of Clear Thought, and a Manual of Gainful Exercise, too, to boost my Int. and Strength.
What I started with, though, looked more like:
Str: 18
Dex: 16
Con: 16
Int: 14
Wis: 15
Cha: 12
Those are estimates, I don't remember the original scores.

Ah, of course. I just assumed (wrongly obviously) that you had given base scores. Which character sheet do you use? I've used my own custom ones for a few years and recently came across the updated 3.5 sheets... They have a spot to put those enhancements and all that so you know what your base scores were.
Not like it matters, and gad fighting can be fun as you can try to take their place.... Though that can lead to the end of a character... But! Then your old character becomes a new choice of gods in the next campaign (if your group is into consistant worlds).

Ah, I can understand that. Heck I have one player who seriously is like "Why can't there just be one god that everyone worships? After all there's only one in real life."
No offence if you are one, but sometimes Christians really piss me off... Got the Deities and Demigods book?

Also... I think you may have read the feat description a bit incorrectly on Monkey Grip... What that feat actually does is allow you to use (as a medium creature) a Large one handed weapon in one hand intead of two. But a Large 2 handed is still held in two hands, as is a Medium 2 handed weapon.
Which, I agree should be changed as a two handed weapon for a medium creature would be a one handed weapon for a large creature. And while it does not say this, it is always up to the DM.
Though using a Medium Greatword deals the same amount of damage as a Large Longsword and weighs the same...

Yeah, he uses a regular sized Greatsword, not a large. I was just sort of...summarizing. And no, we don't have the Deities and Demigods book, but we have the .pdf of it.
And yeah, Christians piss me off quite frequently, with some notable exceptions. (I'm lookin at you,
! Congratulations on being one of the most grounded Christians I know! )

Well, I only have a few actual books myself, like 6-7 but have pdf's of them all. That's besides the point. I really like the idea in the back with the dual gods, the light god and dark god.
One of the things that pisses me off about Christians the most is that they don't seem to realize that their entire religion is just a mix-match of other religions which was done purely because otherwise the people they conquered wouldn't follow it. Also, that they seem obvious to the fact that Lucifer is a deglorified god in his own right.
You know, I just realised.... Kinda got far from the topic. I think that Monkey Grip should just have a variant rule for everyone that allows the wielding of a 2-handed medium weapon in one hand.

Oh, I don't mind 3.5, and I'm a 2e gamer. It just took some getting used to, is all. But 4.0? Not so much for me, really. So, I have a question for you, now. Where do you live? Cause I'd love to get together and play sometime, if possible, and I'm even running a 2.0 campaign here soon!
Well, I'm in Maryland, very close to Delaware, like a 15-20 minute drive to Newark. Finally managed to get some things settled and will be starting a game with members of my family sometime around Christmas. Only one of them has played before and he's a big 2nd edition buff, heck, he used to play first. It'll be his first time messing with 3.5 but he's liking alot of the changes that he's seen so far.
Only negative comment he's had so far is about elves being allowed to be paladins.

Duskies ftw! ne of the better classes for those of us who like versitile beings (supprisingly, Monk is another of those classes if you have books with some of their other class skills). I had a Kobold Duskie at one point whick kicked quite a bit of tail.
Lovely pic. I like what he's waering.

Until I got the book with them in it, I usually played a multiclass Sorcerer/Fighter or Sorc/Duelist, which is basically a Duskie but with ranged spells. Still, gotta love doing your weapon's damage plus spell damage and having the ability to wear armor just in case. As I mentioned, I had a Kobold Duskblade. His armor was close to 20 or so at about level 6 due to natural armor and size mods. Added to that, he was an Amethyst dragonwrought, so when all else fails he'd let loose a point blank Line of Force or wing buffet attack. I also got the DM to go along with using his natural Kobold trapmaking ability to make weapons. He wound up having a railgun which shot arrows completely silently and at great range and accuracy bonuses.
