I just started listening to The Pougues o.o Weird that this picture is the first one I look at.

I love how solid this character looks. She doesn't float in space, for all the lack of a background - she is /planted/ quite firmly.

And that effort of making her, as a deer, both solid and graceful, really shows here. She's curvy and all, yes, and has those delightfully delicate hoove and such - but at the same time, dig the shoulders, the bit of bicep... she's not a willowy little waif.

...I could learn some lessons, studying the way you draw.. >_>

Well, thanks. I'm pretty happy with this one, except for the perfectly straight and stiff right arm. I try not to think too hard about the feasability of standing still on those hooves... like standing on stilts. ^^;
