Yeah, I really loved the idea of this sort of nexus moment when B-Hop got his first basketball. I don't know if it's true or not, but there's a story that Elvis Presley's mother didn't want to give her son the gun that he wanted for his birthday and instead bought him a guitar-- and of course, the rest is history. I really like that story and wanted to have one for B-Hop when Mama and Papa Hopper got their little boy a gift that would shape the rest of his life.
