In the rising of the sun and in its going down, I remember you.
In the blowing of the wind and in the cold of winter, I remember you.
In the blooming of the buds and the warmth of the summer, I remember you.
In the rustling of the leaves and in the colors of autumn, I remember you.
In the beginning of the year and when it ends, I remember you.
When I am weary and in need of strength, I remember you.
When I am lost and sick at heart, I remember you.
When there are joys and I learn and must share, I remember you.
So long as I choose to live you will live for you are always a part of me as I remember you.
Today is the first anniversary of my sisters passing, and I've been trying to capture something to help express my stance in this whole ordeal, something to help me cope along with each day, and that doesn't, wont and cant come easy. This is a process and a journey which I must live through day to day, and each day is not the same. I love her and miss her more than imaginable and I have struggled to not lose faith and hope as it seems to flee away more as time goes on. This piece of work I commissioned was done solely as a tribute to her, and came out as more of a statement of hope to myself, of strength and courage I am trying to recapture. Since this loss I have felt the sting of grief steal away my roar, and I am endlessly coasting. But she was just as strong as I, even more so in many ways, and for me to honor her memory and press on I must roar, I must find it, that spark somehow and show life and these circumstances that I will overcome. So my sister, as the darkness and the unknown surrounds me I shall roar, that pain can fuel something stronger, so I roar. I will roar for you.
