BEAUTIFUL sketch of one of my oldest characters, Marika! :D
I draw her a lot but have yet to actually commission work of her until now! Her reference sheet will be paid for next check!
Marika is what I call a Lyra! There's nothing special or unique about it really, it's pretty much a story based thing.

Already winged creatures (flying insects, birds, winged dragons, ect.) can not be part of the lyra race. The race is also primarily male. Females are extremely uncommon and cannot produce lyra offspring. Most are infertile.
Some things that identify a Lyra as such are tufts of hair on the end of their tail, ears (where there ears would go if they're lizard races), and wings. The wings are typically a single color. More colors indicate more strength, but more then two colors are typically rare.
Lyra reproduce forcefully. The male will take his chosen female by force and FORCE her to produce offspring. If the female isn't taken by force, the offspring will not be a Lyra. Marika's older sister is proof of this. Lizard races typically give several offspring, but they're not particularly strong.
A lyra being can breed with any species. A lizard can breed with a cat for example, and still produce offspring. The offspring will always take the species of the mother, and mainly characteristics from the mother, with some accents from the father.
The Lyra race is a very aggressive and dominating race.
