were there no badgers at the zoo?

This is an awesome set of pictures, otters are so cool :P

When I was at the Santa Barbara Zoo, they had a pair of Asian Small Clawed otters there...who were the laziest pair of otters I'd ever seen. Normally, they're romping, playing, chirping and moving about, but these two lay there sunbathing and sleeping. When the handler came, they got up, stood up and chirped until they got their shares of food, marked their territories and promptly returned to sleep. When I asked the handlers if they were okay, she mentioned they were both 18 years old! The life of an otter sounds great...eat, play, sleep!

Wow, that's pretty old for a small animal! Cool story. =)
