A massive rodent with a grin made of gold....
This naturally deceased muskrat skull has been cleaned by me using environment safe methods. The skull is perfect, free from damage, has all of its teeth and measures just under 3 inches in length.
I leafed the skull in real copper leaf and gave it an antiquing wash before adding blended hints of brushed gold to bring out the details of the bone sutures and angles. The teeth (both incisors and molars) have been given a coat of 18k gold liquid leaf, and a pair of small 14k EP rings run through the zygomatic arches to add a hint of flash. It was finished off with a satin acrylic sealant.
The resulting statement pendant positively glows with warm, metallic color. :)
The skull hangs on a 23 inch thin dark copper chain with lobster clasp. The chain runs through an antique brass ring that is drilled into the back of the skull. I will shorten or length the chain on request for no charge; just inform me of your desired chain length with your order.
