Old, old, old~ ...
I apparently had an urge to draw some slime vore a few months back... With slime tentacles...
Let's not think to hard about it, okay... <<;
There's a good bit wrong here, starting with the proportions getting all kinds of funky. I didn't think much at the time, since it was self-indulgent, really...
There were going to be two more panels, each acting as an alternate ending. One would have had Reed unconscious, curled more tightly. The other would have gone the route of Reed becoming the last-minute victor, and eating up the slime from the inside like jello... at which point I would have questioned whether to call it vore or inflation, I suppose.
Neither matters now. I grew bored of the project.
Er... Enjoy, I guess(?)

*Shakes head* Tsk tsk tsk, i knew you were a bad predator Reed but to fall prey to a slime? Hawhaw... *Watches you struggle inside it with a smug grin*
As for the picture, old or not its very well made! Good expressions and poses. Slimes are neat sometimes, especially when they're just hungry blobs like this fellah.

*Shoots you a frustrated glare from within the slime, somewhere between trying to argue his errors and challenge you to have done better*
Thank you. And agreed. I've always kind of liked slimes for their potential, their shapelessness allowing them to do things that would normally not be possible, like give themselves shapes to commit to a task or even as something else to deceive. But, then, I've always felt that amorphous and bloby like this is generally the way for them to get prey...

Okay, just read one of your previous journals and had to take a look at this to answer your question on why it's popular. It's popular because it serves a niche that probably doesn't get quite the attention it wants (ie Slime Vore) and, much more importantly, you drew it very well. The poses and expressions, especially those in the final frame, are very good. Very dynamic.
In other words, you drew darn fine. This is why it is a popular picture of yours =p

Wow. First, thanks for actually reading my journals and responding to something in it.
With that out of the way, thank you for the detailed and intelligent response. I enjoy getting those from anyone, but such a complimentary one from an artist of your caliber is really very encouraging. Now I may HAVE to redo it. :3
