Hmm, if in your shoes I'd probably charge 35-45 for character waist up (like this one), depending on complexity perhaps more (wings and such). Simple shaded background free, a little extra for modestly detailed background like this, a lot more for a very much detailed background. Raise prices a little bit as you start getting enough clients that you have to turn some down since you don't have enough time for everyone. I say that because this picture is fking adorable and if you put out more like this you would catch on.

It just depends though. Being cheap gets lots of takers and probably more cash overall (heavier workload though), being pricy means fewer but more worth your time . Your call.
