CBRFUR visited Cockington Green Model Village last weekend
And I have to admit, I've always found it a little disturbing... it's such an English thing and it just seems out-of-place in the middle of Australia
(Rather, it would be perfectly suitable... if Australia was still an English Colony, but I would have thought we moved past that stage long ago)
And that feeling, combined with memories of Radiohead's equally disturbing video for their song Burn the Witch which utilises claymation figures that look just like the figures in the park, meant I had to try to combine the two with footage I'd recorded from the visit.
This is a quick attempt just to see if I could get things to work, and I am extremely happy with the results.
I am stupidly happy with the match cut between the model building and the real one.
Unfortunately it looks like I'm not going to have enough good footage to be able to use the whole song, but with some sneaky editing of a verse or chorus or two I may be able to get it to work.
And I can't post it to YouTube because it just gets muted, which gets rid of the whole point of the video.
I could appeal the decision but that'll take time so for now it'll stay on twitter.
Hope you like it!
I'm crazy happy with it as a first attempt at movie-making :)
