First, I'm really impressed on how well this flat color image stands out. I'm with Star on the detail on the uniform and the tack. As to the uniform, it's right out of 1917! In fact, the whole picture is. The anatomical detail of the horse is pretty amazing, as well!
During World War I, on the front lines, both the German and British soldiers actually stopped fighting on Christmas day, came out of their trenches and celebrated Christmas together. It happened only once, in 1914, and it was highly unofficial.

I could see this image in the days leading up to Christmas Day of 1914.
Very well done, Wen.

You might like this commercial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jdobquf1zms . It's absolutely heart touching.
I have seen other adverts like this one. In one hundred years, we haven't learned too much, it would seem. We continue to fight, we continue to kill, all in the name of peace.
I am a 'Conservative' person, I believe in good over evil, but I've never believed that evil is in the hearts of the line soldiers. They are simply the force which men apply to right the evils of this world.
Wouldn't it be nice if those men and women, on both sides, said "Stop! We're not going to kill one another anymore. If you want to fight, we'll get you an arena, and the leaders can fight one another." That's an over simplification, I know, and doesn't apply everywhere and every time, but it would be nice if that could happen.
