Kai's journal: The wild Skyrim nights are beyond horrible, far more intolerable than any night I’ve ever spent in the bustling city of Whiterun. There are sounds in the distance I cannot identify and I am not sure if I even want to know their source. There was previously a faint ringing that echoed along the cliffs; a long slow chime that faded just out of earshot. I am thankful that it did not continue long and I am unsure if the sound emanated from my own tired mind. Every cracking twig and swaying leaf puts me on edge, any moment our uneasy peace could be shattered by attackers. I will not get much rest if this continues.

The barbarian on the other hand seems right at home, though her definition of home is a filthy one. She is quite uncivilized but I am grateful for the company and extra set of eyes; not to mention blades. She’s fierce, and undaunted in a fight. Her knowledge of herbs and their uses has also proven indispensable, even if only part of the ingredients make it in the bowl and not her mouth. I am curious as to what lead her to a life alone in the wilderness instead of with the safety of others. I will try to better understand her choices later, for now she is returning from foraging and I am eager to learn more of this ‘alchemy’.
