This one was a bit personal to me. I grew up loving the Sonic Comics and the Satam Cartoon and Sally is probably my favorite character. Not just was she a breathtakingly beautiful looking character, but she was a strong fearless leader with a strong heart. That was something I immediately gripped onto as it was a call back to another character I loved, Princess Leia. (Funny how they're both princesses!) Not just was this the first occasion of me drawing her in nearly 6 years, but it was also a chance to make a sort of tribute to my favorite Archie Sonic artist, Steven Butler.

Sonic has had many great artists over the years, Dawn Best, Ron Lim, J. Axer, and of course Spaz! Though Butler was always the one who did it most for me. He was the artist of the first Sonic Comic I ever picked up and has been my definitive artist since. Specifically, I think he draws Sally better than anyone else. Few come close, but Butler showcases her physical beauty as well as her personality and emotions on a different level. I have to credit Mr. Butler for being one of the artists who has helped me shape my artistic identity and I'm eternally grateful for that.
