The Fox relaxed as he watched his vixen drinking from the stream, admiring her beauty. IT had been a rather dull day, the two of them unable to find any prey to hunt, and he was glad to take a few minutes to relax. His growling stomach soon reminded him of their purpose and he yipped for his mate to hurry up. She simply waved her tail at him dismissively and continued to drink. Grumbling he went back to laying down, annoyed he would have to wait. As he lay there a scent caught his nose, casing his ears to perk in interest as he took a deeper whiff. It smelled like food! He wasn’t sure what exactly, but it reminded him of some of the delicious things him and his mate had found after some of the humans had left the forest a few moons ago. Barking excitedly he called for his mate again, this time trotting to the forests edge excitedly. His vixen curious came over, looking at him oddly, till she too caught the scent and gave an excited yip in return, licking her lips. Together they ran towards the scent, occasionally stopping to sniff the air and adjust course as it grew ever stronger. As they burst through the underbrush, they stopped short at what they saw, before them was a structure. The fox had seen humans use them occasionally, he believed it was some kind of den, though he never really gave it much thought. He regretted not being more observant before, as the smell was definitely coming from the humans’ den, and he was unsure if it was worth the risk to him and his mate to try and find out what it was. Looking over at his vixen, he could see she was having the same thoughts, her ears perked forward, listening for any sounds of life or danger coming from within. She would occasionally glance at him, trying to see what he wanted to do. Carefully the fox stepped forward, his vixen giving a low growl of disapproval at his decision to go after the food, but she followed along behind him anyway, constantly on the lookout for danger. Slowly he stepped through the open doorway and into the structure, ready to retreat at a moment's notice as he sniffed the air trying to find both the source of the scent and any humans that might be inside. The inside of the house perplexed him and made him stop a bit short, causing his vixen to bump into him. Everything inside was much smaller than he had expected, everything looked like it was the right size for a fox rather than the much larger humans. Even though he had no idea what most of the items were, he felt his curiosity get the better of him as he began going up to the different objects and trying to figure out their uses, the smell of food temporarily forgotten as the prospect of being able to figure out what some of the objects did now that they were the right size was far too tempting. The vixen just rolled his eyes as her tod managed to clamber onto a chair and looked at her all proud, placing his paws on the table pretending to be human. She meanwhile was still focused on the food, though she had to admit the oddly sized furniture was interesting, it would be worth exploring after she had a full belly. As she wandered into the hallway she came upon a room that distracted her from her quest, as she nosed open the door she saw a large object, she didn’t know what it was, though something told her it was used for sleeping. Deciding to take a few minutes to try it out, she quickly hopped up and was amazed at how soft it was, she almost wanted to close her eyes right there and take a nap. But she shook her head and remembered her original goal, groaning as she sat back up. She paused momentarily as she noticed
some of the odd coverings that the humans wore at the end of the bed, she gave them a curious sniff before shrugging and heading back out into the hallway. The fox had too decided to get back to the quest for food, having had lots of fun playing with the various objects in the house. He greeted his vixen in the hall as they continued towards the scent together, coming upon a door that was closed this time. The both stared at the barrier, confused on how to get it open, eventually the vixen smelling the knob and biting it to no effect. The fox agreed with her, the knob had something to do with it. Looking up at it, he reached up with a paw and batted it, noticing it moving a bit as he did. As if a switch had flipped, the fox figured out how it worked, he sat and put both paws on the knob, twisting it and watching as it turned. Only to be disappointed as the knob slipped through his paw pads and he lost his grip. Growling he tried again, stretching his digits around as much as he could, this time yipping in triumph as the door swung open with a soft click. His vixen licked his cheek in thanks as she trotted through the door ahead of him. The fox smiled and started to follow, only to stop as his forepaws felt different as he walked on them. Looking down, the digits looked like he was still stretching them out to try and get the door open. A quick yip of excitement from his mate made him forget his paws, they didn't hurt, so he didn’t see a reason to worry about it more. The vixen sat excitedly on the chair like she had seen her todd doing in the other room earlier, the action almost automatic. She was to distracted by the feast laid out before her to notice however, she didn't know what most of the things were, but everything smelt divine. The large roast turkey crowing the center being one of the few things she could identify and was most eager to dig into. Something told her to wait for her mate though, it was an odd feeling, but she didn't devote much thought to it at the moment as she sat there calling for her tod. The fox jumped up onto the chair opposite his vixen without a thought as well, and gazed at the feast before him, giving a gleeful yip they both began to dig in, using their paws to scoop the different foods out of the bowls before eating it, rather than sticking their muzzles in like one would expect. The only item they did eat normally was the turkey which was too difficult to try and grab with their paws, though the fox did try before giving up. A few hours passed before they finished, both lying back in their chairs rubbing their paws over their swollen bellies. The fox couldn’t believe how much he had eaten, not just the turkey, the mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, everything was just wonderful. He was too full to question how he now knew what all the things he had eaten were called, or how his paw digits looked even more stretched now, the dew claw actually having a bit of motion. It was quite useful towards the end as he was able to grasp one of the the turkey legs and tear it off the roast bird. His wif...vixen’s paws were looking similar to his as well, he remembered seeing her bring a slice of apple pie up to her mouth with her paw to eat it, something he still couldn't figure out how to do. Looking over at her mate she smiled at how silly he looked, trying to stay awake, his paw rubbing his belly. She herself was feeling tired, and knew just where to go. “Trrrroaoamas” she said naturally, as she rolled off the chair, surprised at how she stayed on her hind legs for a bit, even taking an awkward and unbalanced few steps before falling foward to all fours, standing upright almost felt natural for a second...Shrugging it off which seemed like an odd gesture for her to do, she yipped for her husband to follow, smiling as she watched him roll of the chair and follow. Leading him to the bedroom, she reared up again and pulled herself in with her paws, getting under the covers and chuckling as her husband hopped up onto the bed on all fours and curled up into a ball, to
tired to bother to copy her as he fell asleep immediately. She soon fell asleep as well, curling up next to thomas under the covers. The next morning Vanessa yawned and stretched her arms out wide as she sat up, chuckling as she saw her husband sprawled out on top of the covers in the nude. Gasping a bit as she realized she was nude as well, and quickly began getting dressed with her clothes that were laid out at the end of the bed. She didn’t remember going to sleep naked, but shrugged it off as she slipped her tail through the hole in the dress. Getting up she felt a bit unbalanced for her first few steps, almost as if she had forgotten how to walk, but that was silly. After a few paces, she got into the rhythm again as she got a sly look on her face, going over to thomas she tickled the soles of thomas's feet to wake him, watching him squirm in his sleep before falling off the bed in a heap.
“Wake up and get dressed, I’m going to make breakfast” she said chuckling as she licked the side of his face.
Tom grumbled a “yes dear” as she left, slowly stretching and getting dressed as well, opening the blinds and looking at his neighborhood. It was still a bit early, so he didn’t see much activity, but he did see his neighbors the Deers across the street eating breakfast with their fawns. He smiled, hopefully Vanessa and he would have some kits soon, the house seemed a bit empty. Giving a final stretch he headed out to the kitchen, his stomach rumbling in hunger as he smelled the delicious breakfast his wife was making.
