For
Blubberbutts of the characters Zoltan and Shippo. This was an Anniversary commission for him. edit: I didn't learn his partners FA, but he noted it below im the first comment
This took me all week, haha.
Here's something neat: I totally cheated on the stripes. I lined the stripes very thick a solid colour on a separate layer in Chip Studio Paint, then imported it to Photoshop and quickly edited the interior out to get a nice, cheap but nice line. I also cheated to get a nice circle on the two food tubs at the bed side.
The rest is just mostly typical linework... I've been getting a bit faster but it's still very time consuming. I'm trying to find a balance between line width and getting that sense of depth and weight. Too little variation and a drawing looks flat, too much and it's amateurish. Here I varied between a 1.5 and 3.0 width, usually increasing as I go down and decreasing on objects in the background. I've been finding increasing the size to twice it is at the thinnest point works well, but of course I'm going for thinner lines than some
