Nuanced, beautiful character designs like this are probably the leading reason I've warmed up to this big beefy dork. GOSH do I adore the jewelry and pattern aesthetic going on here. I'm still probably gonna wind up sticking with this loser for my starter because I can't fight the awkward fondness-- which is absolutely dreadful, because Robin Hoot and The Most Beautiful Seal in the World are also actually really charming. THESE DESIGNS, MAN.

This is my favorite kind of re-imagining: a great switch up of all the stuff I thought was really clunky in canon and A+ PRECIOUS INDIVIDUAL CHARACTER DESIGN. This girl must have a trainer who took metalwork classes in college.
